The world Truman live in is a fake artificial world, that is built for him and revolves around him and He is unaware of the real world. When he learns the truth about the world he is presented with, he was not able to stay in it so he leaves

In Plato’s allegory of the cave, Plato says that the world that we live in now is a shadow of a knowledgeful world, for example the men trapped facing the wall can only see the shadows of the real world. These men perceive a world that is less perfect and what they see isn’t the truth, when one of the men are let free to look around and learn the truth behind all he has ever known, the light (or the truth) is painful to look at because he is used to seeing the shadows in the dark.
In a way, this prisoner is like Truman from The Truman Show, because at the end when he finds out the truth about the fake world he lived in, which was made to look like the real world, couldn’t see the world he lived in the same way much like when, the prisoner went back into the cave he couldn’t see the shadows as well because his eyes adjusted to the light (or the truth).

In the Truman Show a character named Christof, who is the creator says,in many ways our lives are like The Trueman Show, as in nearly everything is artificial and manmade, and we there are cameras everywhere, withier its security cameras, the cameras on your phone or computer, satellite cameras, all things that can be hacked into or can be used to watch you by the government.
