They made a B in the class.

Dr. Jacquin is a great teacher and researcher and an asset to MSU. This class was very large, but she always made time to meet with students any time. Quizzes and assignments were helpful, tests were fair, and extra credit was available. She even let students argue for credit on test questions they felt were correct even though they missed them. Dr. Jacquin has multiple study sessions, so that sessions are smaller for students to be able to get their questions in. She also stressed meeting with her outside of class on a one-on-one basis. Lectures were interesting and organized. All the notes are on the web, so you have a chance to glance them over before class. I wouild recommend her because she knows her stuff.

Dr. Jacquin is probably the single greatest asset to the psychology department. Not only does she know everything that she teaches through first-hand knowledge, but her outreach to students extends further than any other professor I've taken in any department. She exposes you to every bit of information that you will NEED to know in the outside world, plus she never puts anything above helping students understand. Her class is tough, she demands a lot of work, but you leave feeling like you are very well educated in the material she taught. I think that everyone should get into one of her classes and just see how amazing she is. You'd be surprised how much one professor can teach you in a single semester!

Although I probably worked harder in Dr. Jacquin's class than any other class I've taken (and I'm almost through) I really enjoyed having her as a professor. I agree that she is a huge asset to the psych. department, very intelligent and willing to help students in any way she can. After every test she let us write our opinion of the test, and how she can help us on future tests. She gives plenty of extra credit and has review sessions that help a lot. I had a really bad start in her class (like a F on one test and a D on the second one) but ended up with a B in the class mainly because of her willingness to help. I encourage everyone to take a class with her before you graduate, you will really learn a lot.

Theories Of Pers
4****
I have had Dr. J for many other classes. This has been a class where I was not expecting the grade that I got. We had quizzes everyday about a different theorist and I really liked that. The bad thing was that there was a comprehensive final that covered the entire set of theorists and this brought my grade down. It was just too much to remember for one test. We also had a paper to do. I enjoyed it. We got to develope our own personality theory. I recommend Dr. J as a professor to everyone. She is a great teacher; this class is just hard the way the test was done.

this class requires 6 texts (almost $300 worth of probably non-refundable books). we write a lot of papers, have a big project, and her essay tests are very difficult. she gives you a list of about 56 essay questions and you will be asked 16 or so on the tests. i would not recommend taking this class unless you are prepared to work harder than you ever have before. she is a great person and an excellent teacher, but for some reason she has decided to be a slave driver for this course.

Dr. Jacquin is a legend in the Psych dept., so I had to take her at least once. She is definitely as nice as people say, and a great teacher. She will help you any way she can, and will always stop and re-explain something in class if needed. Once, we were all having a hard time grasping something, and I swear she must have spent like 30 minutes making sure we understood. Her tests are very fair and easy to do well on, IF you study. Great teacher, everyone should take her at least once.

Dr. J really loves the material and that shows in her lectures. She always took the time to answer questions and facilitate class discussions. She would give examples of her professional career that pertained to the subject at hand. Expect to work in the class, but you'll get a lot out of it. I've had her for her Psych and Law course too. Both are great, and I would definitely recommend taking her for Forensic Psych as well. You can't get much better than her.

I had the opportunity to take this class last fall, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Dr. Jacquin made the class interesting, and really involved students in everything from a mock trial to a field trip to one of the state's correctional facilities. You work for your grades - expect to write frequent papers, in addition to a midterm and final - but Dr. J is a very fair grader. All in all, I'd highly recommend the class.

I had Dr. J. for Psych and Law. Dr. J. is a great teacher. She is awesome at explaining the material and she makes it very interesting by incorporating it into our lives and also by sharing her past experiences in the psych. field with us. You do have to work hard but it isn't bad, it's a great class and she is a great teacher.

Dr. Jacquin is by far my favorite teacher at Mississippi State!! Take her for every class you possibly can. She is very nice, explains the material well, and gives extra credit. She seems to be very busy and has a lot of other work besides teaching, but unlike most teachers, she always makes time for her students.
