Dr. Hanes is without a doubt one of the worst professors I have ever had. In his class he spends well over 10 minutes of each 50 minute lecture writing down theorems word-for-word on the board when they are located clearly in the book rather than explaining what they mean. He also makes several mistakes on the majority of problems he teaches and stated numerously that he, "couldn't solve these without his notes". Also, if a professor is "smart" enough to get a PhD, I would at least expect him how to spell simple words correctly. I'm not going to get mad if a professor occasionally misses a consonant in a word, but if you have a teacher that teaches LINEAR ALGEBRA spell the word "matrix", like "maetrics", then there is definitely a problem.

In conclusion, Dr. Hanes manages to open my eyes and show me how horrible a teacher can possibly be. He is either horrible at presenting the material or doesn't know the material he teaches, He tries to kill time to make up for his abysmal lectures, He can't spell the majority of words that have more than one syllable, and finally he shows little to no care for the subject he teaches. With his average student GPA at Ole Miss being a 1.76, I would avoid taking a class with him at all costs.

College Algebra
Pros: He sucks at explaining the lessons and flies through them! When you tell him you don't understand all he says is to go online and watch videos on it! Sometimes he quite rude as well!!
