CH 221
Organic Chemistry I
1*
Pros: Knows what he is talking about.
Cons: He doesn't pass his knowledge on to students very well. Students essentially must learn from the book. He asks very obscure questions; gives several examples of a reaction but asks about the one exception to the reaction on the test.
Take another professor if possible.

CH 221
Organic Chemistry I
1*
Pros: he's very enthusiastic and you can tell he enjoys chemistry

he changes the grading scale so a 60 is a C- instead of a 70

If grades are low he curves the class
Cons: he jumps from topic to topic during lectures.

he's VERY confusing

doesnt really use his powerpoints. he puts it on the screen and doesn't change slides much

don't really learn much
I dont feel like I'm learning anything I took orgo previously and that's the only reason I have been doing ok on the homework and the test we have taken. This is the worst professor I have had. I go to every class and feel like it is pointless. His powerpoints are somewhat helpful, not much, but he doesnt really use them. he also says there are errors in the textbook required and on his powerpoints. Also when getting your test back make sure you get it on time or he wont regrade it. I didn't get down to the front of the class "fast enough" so I had to wait to receive my test (next class) and when I got it back they messed up my grade and he refused to regrade it.

CH 221
Organic Chemistry I
5*****
Pros: Very enthusiastic and loves what he does. Curves so class average is about a 70 and lowers the floor of a C- so more people pass. Very helpful if you go to his office hours.
Cons: Notes can be jumpy at times.
Organic chemistry is a subject that requires a lot of practice. You have to be willing to put a lot of time into doing problems yourself or you will not come out with a good grade.
