Pros: he teaches directly from the book and posts questions on each chapt. in tracs, most of the questions from the chapter reviews will be on exam. I managed to pull an A in the first exam without attending class. The course consists of 3 exams and one final exam, but if you average and A in your first three exams you don't have to attend the final. He also drops the lowest test grade and replaces it with the extra credit you earn from required quizzes that he posts on tracs. The quizzes each have 3 attempts and are only 25 questions long. Super easy since you get to look at your book while you do the quiz.
Cons: Class is early at 8:00 a.m. so it makes it difficult to attend, but not much of a problem if you read the book on your own, since the lecture is directly from the book. I also heard he is boring, he tries to make jokes, but Economics all together is boring! But shouldn't be a problem if you don't attend class ;)
He is really funny, and brought donuts to class, He genuinely cares about his students and tries his best to make the course as easy as possible. I highly recommend him!

Pros: Offers a TON of extra credit at the end of the semester.

Nice guy.
Cons: Economics at it's core is a fundamentally boring subject, Bishop will try his best to make it interesting, but it's still one dry class.

If you have an option, don't take his course at 8Am, because you will fall asleep.

Doesn't take attendance even though the lecture hall went from 200 students to 25 frequent students.

Pros: Cares about his students, and he doesn't take attendance. The textbook he has assigned is easy to learn from.
Cons: He teaches from the powerpoint, pretty much word for word, and since there is no attendance policy there isn't much of an incentive to come, unless its for review.

Pros: there to strictly teach us basic economics and to know the very beginner concepts. which is how it should be. i had a prior professor which i ended up dropping who taught the class as though it was upper level and expected us to know way more about economics than reasonable.
Cons: his lectures werent very interesting, hard to pay attention (especially at 8 am in the morning)

he tended to be all over the place
i would recommend him, and would take him again. wish i could have pulled off an A but i rarely made it to class. otherwise i probably would have!
