ENG 2360
AM LIT SINCE 1865
4****
Pros: tests over the things he mentions in class, not so much the events of the books. he can be funny...overall not a bad class
Cons: if you don't want to hear the ending of the book before you get to it then read it before he starts talking about it because eh gives away the ending immediately every time! he has a comprehensive midterm and final so the info from the beginning of the semester is more important than the things you learn later.

5*****
Pros: Lets you know what you will see on tests during class; test questions can easily be found online (he tells you this on first day of class) and he reuses many questions
Cons: When analyzing readings, it doesn't matter how you interpret the reading, only how the professor does (this applies to all literature classes, though)
Great professor! Tells you exactly what to expect on tests! Be sure to Google the tests, many questions and answers will be on quizlet! He takes a few attendance quizzes (the only question on the last quiz was "What is your name?", so seriously, don't freak out about these quizzes!)... GO TO CLASS! I guarantee that is the way to make the best grade; you will have your notes and know EXACTLY what to study for the tests!

ENG 2360

5*****
Pros: Really breaks down the reading material for you so that everyone can undersand whats going on. pretty much anything he lectures over, its on the test. 8/10 times he'll say this is on the test. gives quizzes if there is crappy attendance, which are easy if you read what was assigned or at least the syllabus.
Cons: questions on test can really confuse you sometimes.
keep your tests! he puts the right answers up on tracs and you can use it for the midterm or final!

ENG 2360
AM LIT SINCE 1865
5*****
Pros: He tells you what will be on the test and encourages you to find previous tests on the internet bc he like to "recycle". No papers. Reading is light.
Cons: Midterm has an essay portion. yuck
Interesting and easy class (coming from someone who dislikes English and Lit classes). He curves tests based on the number of correct responses for each question. He is a likable and interesting professor who makes learning lit fun and interesting.

Pros: He will point out questions that will be on the test.
Cons: You are graded on his interpretation of the texts. Most of the readings aren't entertaining. Some of his test questions are easily confused; A&B but not c, BLAH!
I used SparkNotes and test answers I found online for the last 3 exams, as opposed to reading the texts, and saw a 30 point increase in my test scores; just some food for thought.

4****
Pros: He's really cool, he knows the material isn't interesting to 95% of his students and he caters to that as much as he can.
Cons: You NEED to attend class, but its pretty boring material .
He doesn't 'take' attendance daily but he gives 5/6 easy ass quizzes throughout the semester (usually the day after the tests) that accounts for 5% of the total grade... be there for those!

Pros: Explains everything in details. He points out what will be on the test.

Absence quizzes are three questions are super easy!
Cons: He does random quizzes to check attendance. Five quizzes count for 5% of final grade.
Offers extra credit essay, but the most you can get is two points added to the final grade you earn in the class.

ENG 3343
INTERDIS APPROACH
3***
Pros: Fun teacher, great class discussion.
Cons: SO MUCH READING. But I guess if you are signing up for the class then you want to read a lot. I had Cormac McCarthy for the author and his writing was very dark and honestly boring so it was hard to enjoy, but maybe if there was another author that we focused on I would've liked it.

Just read the material and go to class to listen out for the questions that you wouldn't find in the stories you read.
