ENG 2360
AM LIT SINCE 1865
4****
Pros: Gives quite a bit of extra credit and shows movies in class that are very similar to the book(s). You don't have to read everything but you definitely have to read some things ( like Love Medicine ).
Cons: The lectures tend to be dull. Also, if sometimes he can have information ( that will be about 2-3 questions on the test ) with in a span of 1 minute. So if you zone out or don't write fast enough you could miss them. Some of this information would be something you wouldn't ever think you'd need for the test. Don't miss too much class, it's easy to miss a lot of stuff.

ENG 2360

3***
Pros: His tests are fairly easy, and even if you do bad on one of the tests, you can make it up with the extra credit essay (It took me two hours to write before class). He does assign a lot of readings, but for the most part they are short.
Cons: He is very monotone. The class can be boring and you will want to take a nap. If you don't listen, you might miss something that will end up on the exam.
His lectures are extremely boring. Print out the notes for that day (on his syllabus, it will say what author we're going over that day, and the word document will be that author's name) from TRACS, it helps to follow along. If you're not going to read some of the books, watch the movie! The only book you really need to read is Love Medicine, and all of the short poems/stories that he assigns for the tests, otherwise the movies we watch in class will help a lot. Also he throws in random facts about the authors (and other people) into his lectures, and a lot will be on the test. So, try to listen even tho he is ridiculously monotone and repeats himself A LOT.

Pros: His lectures are thorough. He helps you understand the backround of the authors and analyzes what they are trying to say in the stories or poems.
Cons: If you don't read, you will fail his tests. Some questions on the test are on his opinion from lecture, but the rest of it are paragraphs or quotes from the stories/poems and you must identify from what story/poem it's from.

Pros: He doesn't take attendance, and his TA's are really nice and helpful.
Cons: He mumbles a lot, you can hardly understand him most of the time. He talks really fast, and his tests aren't the easiest things.
I wouldn't recommend him unless your up for a challenge.
