HIST 2301
History of the United States Since 1877
5*****
Pros: You don't need a book. Everything is based off what he says in class. You have three books to read and he gives out quizzes over each book, and each quiz is worth 20 points. He is my favorite teacher this semester and he is very easy to follow and is funny.
Cons: You have to go to class.
If you study, go to class, and read, you will get an A. He's a great professor and I wish I could take another one of his classes.

HIST 2301
History of the United States Since 1877
5*****
Pros: Super easy class. You have one test, and a final, but (depending on his decision) you may not even have to take the final. He may announce that if you have an A in the class, you don't have to take it. Attendance in lecture isn't mandatory, though it is for the discussion sections (which only meet roughly once every 2 weeks or so). Don't need to know dates for the test, he gives you outlines for each unit and each test.
Cons: His test isn't multiple choice, if that tends to be an issue for you, though they are easy if you study the lecture notes. I feel like having the test as free-response is better, because if you have some idea of what the question is asking, you get partial credit at least. You have quizzes over just a handful of books (there's no textbook for the course) that are 2 or 3 easy short-essay questions.

HIST 2300
Hist Of U.S. To 1877: History of the United States to 1877
5*****
Pros: Very funny, genuinely interested in your success, will go out of his way as a professor to help you, especially if you have a learning disability (I do). Extremely understanding and obviously has a great love for teaching. DOESN'T REQUIRE YOU TO REMEMBER DATES, just linear timescale (this happened before this and after that).
Cons: Doesn't use technology: no powerpoints or anything and will be extremely suspicious of you if you have a laptop.
Overall a great guy. I failed his class hardcore twice in a row (my fault, had nothing to do with that particular class) and he was still always happy to see me and insisted I come in for help if I needed it. Genuinely a nice guy, I recommend him to anyone who wants to enjoy a history class for the first time.

HIST 2300
Hist Of U.S. To 1877: History of the United States to 1877
5*****
Pros: - Best history teacher I have ever taken!

- If you are an international student or you have a difficulty taking class notes, he will help you out.

- He cares about every student of his and will recognize your name. He will ask you how you are doing and all.

- He asks his TA's to be easy on grading

- If you do well on your exams, you don't need to take the final.

- He keeps the class active with participation so you will not fall asleep in this class.
Cons: - Very strict. If your phone rings, you are out. If he or his TA's find you on facebook or talking, they will put you on spot.

HIST 2301
History of the United States Since 1877
4****
Pros: He doesn't take attendence but there is a seating chart. The quizzes are easy and can bring up a bad midterm. If you have perfect attendence and an A you're exempt from the final.
Cons: All the quizzes and exams are essay style. The midterm is hard. You pretty much have to go to class for notes.
He's not bad. I'd take him again.

Great enthusiastic professor! Keeps lecture pretty interesting considering the material. As long as you go to class and pay attention, there is no reason you shouldn't get an A. FYI take notes! His tests come straight from them.
