ZOO 3733
Human Anatomy
5*****
Pros: This class is designed to teach the superior leaders of the medical profession. There is not a such thing as "too much information" in this profession, as others in this post claim. This class is required to do well in the medical field. Working "one's butt off" is necessary to ensure proper education and to make proper decisions. Indeed, if you are taking classes to earn an easy degree for the medical field, please reconsider, as you will have lives in your hands. Dr. Samsam is an MD / PhD, and he surely is a blessing to UCF. His expertise far exceeds what you may expect at an undergrad level, and for those who are serious about their profession, please utilize him to gain a solid understanding of Anatomy or Neuroscience. This class is highly recommended for those entering Medical School. Anything less than a B in this class (without proof of prior-commitments) will hint immaturity to Medical Committees. Indeed, a high A should be attainable for future Physicians, anything less should be considered unacceptable.
Cons: NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Pros: You work your butt of, learn a lot, and the knowledge is priceless. If you can pass this class, then the sky is your limit when it comes to education.

Also, you have 10 exams- 5 labs & 5 lectures and each is 10% of your grade, so your grade is pretty much spread out.

The curve is about 10%, so if you get a raw score of 82, you'll end up with 92%. And with extra credit oppurtunities, you might have another 4%
Cons: Only if you consider studying hard a con
Amazing class, very passable. Study hard and you'll pass. People actually pass this class with As, so you can do it.

ZOO 3744
Neurobiology
5*****
Pros: Yes, a very intense and in-depth course with Dr. Samsam, but that is to be expected! He knows his materials and expects you to know them too.
Cons: Make sure you take Anatomy first, and to be honest, it's the same workload as Neuroanatomy, you are better off taking it.
Overall very informative course, you will know Neuroanatomy and Neurobiology at the end of the semester. Study diligently and spend plenty of time studying the powerpoints and memorizing the diagrams.

Human Anatomy
1*
Pros: He is a genius. (which does you no good)
Cons: He has no idea how to lecture, and the class is a disorganized nightmare which = genius that does you no good!

His book is poorly organized and just feels like a big run on sentence. The medical language is just plowed into with no foundation. And the lab is pathetic. It's not a lab at all. It's waiting in turns to look at plastic models. Community college A&P sequence is actually much more beneficial - and you dissect things and have a real lab.
If you like anatomy and find it interesting - you won't after 5 minutes listening to him (not really listening unless you speak Persian/Arabic, more like hearing.

Pros: Dr. Samsam is a brilliant man. I took him in the spring and didn't take the intensity of the course seriously. I ended up with a C, but retook it in the summer. If you put the time in to really learn, you will be ahead of all of your peers in med school. I learned more in this class than I have all of college. He curves every test at least 15 points. Go to class and go to lab, put in effort and you will be rewarded. Ill be the first to tell you, your effort reflects your grade.
Cons: Tests are difficult but do-able. Take advantage of Dr. Samsam, he is always willing to help.
This class rocks! Challenged me more than I ever have been challenged.

Pros: He is very knowlegable and can explain things very well. Gives 10% curve for each test :-) plus 4% extra credit for the final grade
Cons: Lab Tests are so confusing. All my grades for lect were in low A and high B but my lab grades were most in the 70 with the curve!!!
This class is hard and you need to put time and effort otherwise you are going to fail it

Pros: Makes anatomy as easy as possible. Still hard, but you can't really expect easy from anatomy. 10 tests - 5 lecture, 5 lab. Final not comprehensive. Generous curving and extra credit
Cons: Sometimes difficult to understand when he talks too fast. Dr. Samsam is apparently a morning person, meaning lecture is at 7:30 am

Pros: Learn Anatomy with an emphasis on clinical application. Uses MedSchool grade resources.
Cons: very very difficult class, be prepared to spend 10 hours a week at the very least to get an A in this class. Test averages are in the F range but exams and class itself are graded on a curve, so grading is fair

Pros: Extra credit drawings given to boost your final mark by 4%
You have to study consistently. Review the material constantly. Review review review. It is a lot of memorization but it is doable. He gives a 5-10% curve on each test, so don't freak out when you don't get 90's on all the tests.
