CHM 2211 - Organic Chemistry II
Dr. Ye is a pretty good teacher who is willing to help his students in his office hours. In addition, I feel that was pretty straightforward with his test.
Pros: It is really hard to fail his class because Dr. Ye curves pretty generously. First, an 85 is an A minus not to mention he gives an extra 6 points on tests. In addition, if you are able to narrow down your selections to the right answer and the answer you pick, Dr. Ye will give you a half point back on your tests.
Cons: Dr. Ye has very dry lectures which can be very boring to attend. However, he is a very knowledgeable man that will take his time to help you.

READ THE BOOK. READ THE BOOK. READ THE BOOK. And do ALL of the problems in and after the chapter. His tests are fair if you have done these two things. Same goes for his extra credit quizzes. Personally I like his lectures, read the chapter before class and it's easy to follow along, he is a little boring tho.

Pros: Massive Curves

Recycles questions

Lots of old tests around
Cons: 4 tests and that's it

Self taught mostly

Study old tests, a few are exactly the same and some are slightly changed. He gives the same final every semester (2004 ACS), I'm pretty sure more than half of the class had a copy because that test was only curved about 5% while the rest of the tests were curved 10-18%. He also has an adjusted grading scale where 85 is an A-. Fyi, none of the other Orgo II teachers curve that I know of.

Pros: Pretty manageable if you use the old exams to study for the tests, extra credit pop quizzes
Cons: He is so boring which makes it really hard to go to class and show up for the pop quizzes
Didn't know about the old exams until the 3rd test and scored 30% higher than normal....so use them. For the final, know spectroscopy, about 4-5 questions just asking the number ranges

Pros: Only pro is you can find his tests here on koofers and he doesnt change them much.
Cons: He is a terrible teacher, his tests are hard (unless you memorize them from the ones on here!). Bad overall if you can take Miles, will be hard too but youll have a fighting chance
