ECON 1202 - Principles of Macroeconomics
Professor is a joke, but all homework and the first 2 exams are online which makes it extremely easy to do well on especially because he posts the slides online. Final has to be taken in a class room but is also easy.

no need to go to this class at 8 am. forget about it. i went to 4 classes all semester, got an A. however, that is not to say getting an A is easy in this class. An outrageous amount of studying is needed before each exam and doing the Aplia assignments online (conveniently due on Saturday nights...) will be the biggest pain in your ass every weekend. He posted his class slides online but studying only those for the exam and you will get a C at the most in this class, probably lower. You need to read the book and read it thoroughly because there are many questions on his exams that have to do with some very fine details that you won't get in the slides. Also the book is about 500 pages and you will need to read every one of them to get an A. I think he gave a pretty decent scale at the end of the semester because I'm sure the grades overall were very poor. Pretty much, if you don't want to go to class, make sure you read the book before each exam and you will do well. Otherwise, your grade will be a crapshoot.

Tbe negative statments from me above are a little misleading. i had him over the summer for econ intd macro. he gave tests in essay form, they seemed so hard and thourough ahead of time, but it just makes you learn the material to the point where you can write an essay on it. since you chose the essays even if you forget a topic you skip it. that was cool, he let us out when it was too hot or there was a problem with him. there were multiple 100s on the first exam without a curve! i didnt meet any of the people that didnt get an A but they did go to the lectures so only take the class if you can replicate what is said in class and his notes that are put online.

Please give this guy some credit. He has left his professional job to teach and drive his Lex around and I think that is pretty respectable. Unlike most professors who are acedemically oriented I found Professor Cunningham's professional experience and personal experiences with economics to really help him bring the material to you in a way applicablem to the real world. Classes may seem boring but I think its the material thats to blame. If you put any effort into his class you will do well. You'd really have to be a moron to fail his class. He is acquainted with computers and that makes his material very well organized. Attend class and you will learn and do well. Recommended for anyone that is not a waste of life.

This is the worst professor I have EVER had. He is unprofessional and a waste of life. I wanted to take the midterm early, because I had bought a ticket to go on spring vacation back in November. I had to leave the same day as the exam.

Most professors, not a problem. He refused to let me make up the exam, even after explaining my situation. That's a 0 for 40% of my grade! A class I could have easily passed was ruined by an irate and poor teacher.

Thanks to him, it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to pass the class and he could honestly care less. I was doing well, before the midterm, but it was all a waste of time.

What goes around comes around and I hope this guy gets his! If you're smart, you'll stay away.

Absolutley take Macro with Cunningham. Didn't go to 1 lecture, instead read the slides he would be reading from that day on my own time (instead of going to class at 8 in the morning...he posts them online). Also went to discusion every week. Our class(Spring 2009) was the first class he gave online exams to (2) and a final we had to come to class for. Don't know if he's going to continue with online mid-terms since most of the people I know received above 90's on all of em. Earned an A in the class. In regards to the book... it's helpfull if you want to be guranteed an A, and if you struggle with Econ I'd probably reccomend it, but if you feel confident in economics and aced micro, then you can probably just avoid buying the book and buy a standalone version of myeconlab to save some money for beer. Alright, thats it, good luck :)

This is the second time I had to take ECON 111. The first time I missed only one class and somehow managed to get a D+. I think the combination of an 8am class and this guy's pathetic style of teaching helped that out. I'm taking his class again for a better grade and I've hardly gone and I've got a B in the class. Nobody ever goes, my TA included, and yet those people who don't go do great. So don't bother getting up early for his class. Go to discussion, thoroughly read the book, and you're all set!

he claims to have worked for the treasury dept. or something of that like, that is where he should have stayed because he does not fit in the classroom. this man can not present his material in a manner to even have the class show up, out of a class of 300 people maybe, MAYBE 15 showed up each lecture to suffer.

Cunningham really isn't too bad. He knows a lot about economics and really seems to love the subject. You don't NEED to go to class, although it is helpful. all the slides are online and if you read them and the book and actually study you will do well, if not forget getting anything over a c. GO TO DISCUSSION, ultimately your TA makes or breaks your grade so get on their good side and do well on the quizzes.

Simply put, Prof. Cunningham reads directly off the online notes. Our class was in CLAS 108 which holds nearly 300 students, by the end of the semester less than 50 were attending. This man is a waste of time and will put you to sleep. I dont know why they pay this guy to read notes that a publishing company made. Take someone other than cunningham, unless you like napping in lecture.

I attended the first two classes of the semester and realized this guy teaches directly from the slides online, that are already explained in the text. No need to wake up at 7 to go to this 8 am class (ECON 111). Just read the material, understand it, go to ur TA with questions, unless you want to be bored to death. His tests are hard, so know everything well...i barely managed a B+, and i usually get As. People fail this one left and right...be careful.

He gave us 30 mother fucking questions to study from for the final. Thats really narrowing the course down for us Cunningham, thanks a lot. Lecture is pointless and will not help you on the midterm or final. What a worthless class and person.

Cunningham was much better than I expected from these ratings. He was very flexible with my class, with a good arguement from the class he put the notes online so half of the time I didnt attend class because it was soo easy. The exam as long as you study his notes and the books section and the aplia assignment its a piece of cake. I wouldnt mind having him as a prof. again.

It's pretty obvious if you read the evaluations of the people who gave him bad marks never went to class. I wonder why they did bad! Go to class, and study for the exams. The exams come straight out of the book, so there are never really any surprises. If you treat this as a real and challenging class, you'll do fine. Don't be like most of the students who never go to class.

Ok, this class is at 8 am so that just sucks. he does not teach a damn thing, so you end up teaching yourself from the book. and my TA didn't help that much, partially because of the fact that HE BARELY SPOKE ENGLISH. so yea this class blows, its so boring. seriously try not to take this guy - you will regret it.

Cunningham definitely deserves more credit. His tests are 50 multiple choice and are fairly easy if you study the text and/or notes, and you don't need to go to class. He also "supposedly" gives a small curve on every exam. His notes are STRAIGHT out of the book. The online HW's are rediculously easy, but you need to go to the discussion sections since they sometimes give quizzes. If you're willing to put forth the effort, I guarantee you that you'll do well with Cunningham.

Professor Cunningham knows what he's talking about. However, he has the most monotone voice I have ever heard and his lectures are all based off of powerpoint slides that are posted on the website. These slides, I might add, were made by the book's authors- not him. Econ 111 is an interesting class, but going to lecture benefits you in no way as long as you're doing the reading. It's not an overly difficult class with Cunningham, so I would'nt discourage you from taking it.

Way to boring! His lectures put me to sleep and his tests were way too hard. The average grade on the midterm was a 65 with the curve. enough said.

He is really boring. However, if you are a student that can read slides online and go in an ace an exam, I highly recommend him. Exams are very easy because they are taken directly from the online notes. Went to the first 3 classes and stopped going and finished with an A in the class. If the exams have any questions that a bunch of people missed, he curves it by the amount of points they were worth. Exams were generally curved 4 points even though the averages were perfectly acceptable. Very easy class.
