FREN 2002
Intermediate French
5*****
Professor Antonielli is a good teacher and I highly recommend you take his class. There a 3 tests, a project, and a final in addition to homework and participation grades. Attendance is mandatory. He gives a lot of little worksheets that are in the same format of the test, and tells you exactly what to expect on the test. He's a lenient grader and subtracts 0.25 points for grammatical errors when you write. The project is a 5 minute presentation on something related to France (a person, food, a sport, political issue, etc) given in French. The oral exam is done outside of class, but it's quick and easy. You'll learn a lot and enjoy it! If possible, I'd recommend a MWF class because the TR classes seemed sort of long and tedious sometimes.

ITAL 1001
Elementary Italian
5*****
Pros: -Great teacher.

-He speaks in English during the class (unless he is speaking/teaching in Italian), so you understand what he is saying.

-He is very funny and (if you have a good class) he will joke around and teach you some other stuff that the book doesnt teach you.

-He made our class tiramisu when we were on the Chapter about food.
Cons: -His Italian accent sometimes makes his English hard to understand, but it's usually something that he makes fun of and will allow you to laugh at it.
The tests for every Italian class are the same, but Antonielli is the best teacher to get.

ITAL 1002
Elementary Italian
5*****
Pros: Works really hard to prepare you for the tests

Lots of in-class worksheets/assignments that help you learn the material

Grades assignments very quickly

Cons: None, really.
The neatest, little Italian man! Does A LOT to help students learn the material (in-class worksheets, repetition, etc.) It is very important that you go to class and actually participate...he does keep track of participation points. Overall, one of my favorite professors I've had thus far. Class consists of 5 tests, a mid-term, a final, and 2 compositions.

ITAL 1002
Elementary Italian
4****
Pros: He's very nice and repeats all of the concepts over and over so that you usually remember everything without having to study too much.
Cons: Doesn't always understand your question but works to figure it out until he can answer it.
Make sure you raise your hand to answer at least one question every class that's how he does participation, he writes your name down each day and that gives you one point. He starts out giving you 40 and if you raise your hand every class (60 classes) you get 100 for participation.

FREN 2002
Intermediate French
5*****
Pros: He's a really cool guy and the way he communicates makes the whole class engaged. He's good at what he does
Cons: He often spends too much time on "busy work" (textbook activities), but he usually spends the remaining time to just talk about anything with the class in french.

His Italian accent is thicker in French than when he speaks English! Beware of the pronunciation!
He is a harsh essay grader so sometimes it may be easier to write in simpler french to be safe.

ITAL 2002
Intermediate Italian
5*****
Pros: -Very nice

-Pretty lenient

-Very good at explaining Italian
Cons: None
Antonielli is awesome! There's no homework like there was for the prior Italian courses and no projects. Instead you have five quizzes (pretty easy seeing as he does like a million reviews before each one) and two compositions which aren't really that bad. He's very good at teaching grammar in Italian. Very relaxed and very lenient with students. Great teacher.

Pros: Does lots of examples in class

Repeats verb tenses enough to get you to remember them

Easy tests

SUPER nice and approachable

Very caring
Cons: Slight language barrier, but not horrible
The SWEETEST little Italian man you will meet! He's so kind and caring, and he really takes the time to make sure everyone understands the material. He does a lot of examples in class; lots of repetition too. But it's all worth it!

ITAL 2001
Intermediate Italian
2**
Pros: Extremely easy class.
Cons: Painfully easy and incredibly dull. A lot of time is spent sitting around in silence, since Professor Antonielli gives you far too much time to complete simple assignments.
I'd suggest this class if you are looking for a total blow-off class or might struggle with the language. Otherwise, you will be bored out of your mind. But, hey- easy A.

I really liked learning Italian with him. The tests were easy and he tells you what exactly will be on each one. Make sure to participate in class though, because that really affects the grade in the end. Overall a really great teacher, and I'd recommend him to everyone.

Pros: He helps you get a good grade by telling you whats on the exam.

Only take this if its your very last french class. You will get an A. It's just boring.
