POLS 1101 - American Government
Going to a lecture is a good idea, but really if you just read the book and know the material you'll do well on the tests.
Pros: Used to be a stand-up comedian, SO funny. Also no essays on tests!

POLS 4515 - Campaign Politics
Pros: Witty
Cons: Not worth the difficulty of the class. Burmila leaves no room for error, especially on anything written. Even if you are a 4.0 student, if you're not willing to seriously devote yourself, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS

POLS 2000
Introduction to Political Science
2**
Pros: Extremely funny and personable. Gets along well with students, makes the lectures interesting through jokes, and takes time to help students who need it.
Cons: He is a nice guy but he is not a good teacher. His notes are random and scattered. Before exams I never knew what to study because I never really learned anything in class. ONLY TWO EXAMS AND YOU HAVE TO DO THE READING TO GET A DECENT GRADE.
He is an extremely funny guy which makes class interesting but his teaching is not up to par. He only has two exams which makes it difficult to bring your grade up. EXTREMELY HARD GRADER with no curves. Even though he was nice, it wasn't worth taking the class because the material itself was hard and he did not do a good job at teaching it.

Pros: One of the funniest teachers I've ever had. Made a very dry class seem interesting.
Cons: Harsh grader. The midterm and final were really random, and there wasn't much you could do to prepare for them.
He was funny, but that wasn't enough to get him a great rating. I dropped my poly-sci major after taking this class.

Pros: very funny guy

makes class interesting
Cons: He makes his test questions tricky even though they're multiple choice.
I learned in his class so that's what really matters.

Pros: HE IS AMAZING. take this class. please. you will never enjoy the most boring subject as much as you'll love this class. he make something that most people can't stand and make it super entertaining. he's super funny and is also very knowledgeable about political science so he explains everything in an easy to understand way
Cons: there are only 3 tests worth 20% each and a final worth 30% and the break out is only with 10%. the tests aren't super hard but you need to do well on all because there are no drop tests and each one is a huge chunk of the grade.
the difference in workload in the class comes from your TA in your breakout. mine assigns lot of extra work that some other classes don't. still not that much, just one paper and a debate we have to do in class. overall i DEFINITELY recommend this class!

Pros: Hilarious! I love listening to lecture. Gives only three tests, fifty multiple choice questions from lecture and book. Book notes are online.
Cons: If you get a crappy T.A., you'll have to write papers.
Burmila is the man! He's so funny and makes government and political science make a lot of sense. His tests aren't hard if you go to lecture and look over the book notes posted online. I loved this class. Watch out for bad T.A.'s, though, I got a good one and we didn't have any assignments, but some give papers.

Pros: Companion site to textbook for study tools.

Funny teacher.

Cons: Doesn’t lecture completely on topic/on material.

Tests are fairly difficult.

Must read.

Burmilla is a funny teacher, gets a lot of laughs out the class with his dry humor. It is entertaining, but sometimes he gets a little sidetracked and doesn’t talk about the material that will best-prepare you for the exam. Attending the breakout session helps your grade and refreshes the material. Dedication is required, but I would recommend it.

Pros: HILARIOUS
Cons: Grades the research paper very, very hard.
I love Prof. Burmila. He is one of the funniest professors on campus and really wants you to understand what he's teaching. You can't go into this class without a bit of a thick skin though because he does joke around a lot. He really can read his classes very well and tell when people don't understand something or just aren't paying attention. If you don't take him for an American Politics class you are really missing out.

Cons: Unless you have access to old tests, don't take this class!!!!! The only way to do good is if you actually read the text book. You might even make a B if you read the book. Otherwise, you may be like my friend who reads every page and still doesn't make an A on a test. He may be a great professor, but his tests aren't so easy. Many were suggesting him, but I despise his tests. If I had know I would have gotten a B-, I would have taken a really boring professor who is easy!

Pros: As someone who hates Poli Sci, I actually didnt hate this class. Burmilla is really funny, and helps make a very dry subject entertaining.
Cons: The textbook is painfully boring and repetative, but not neccessary for the class. Dont buy that shit.
A good TA is a must in this class. Ten percent of the final grade is your breakout session. There are three tests, each worth 20 percent. The final is 30. All his tests are multiple choice.

Pros: He is hilarious and definitely a great class to take since you have a poli sci requirement.
Cons: Exams can have some harder questions, but he covers almost everything in lecture. Just pay attention because it isn't all on the slides.
He is one of the funniest professors I have ever had. He makes the subject matter so much easier to relate to and actually made me look forward to learning about poli sci.

Pros: Burmila is super funny!

Class is generally entertaining
Cons: No cons!
Burmila is so funny and he makes the materials so much easier to understand. Tests ranges from medium to hard. Just listen in class and take notes! Most materials on the test comes directly from the readings and class notes. You'll just have to work a little bit more to get the grades you want.

Pros: He's hilarious. He makes government entertaining and his lectures are worthwhile. Most of the test material is out of the book and some from the lecture. The 3 tests are 50 multiple choice only.
Cons: There's a weekly breakout session, but my TA was great, so it was worth it. Final exam is cumulative.
One of the best for the required Gov class. TAKE HIM.

Pros: He makes the class interesting because he uses college humor, aka being drunk, parties, as examples for his lectures. 3 tests, that's it. And all multiple choice.
Cons: Some TAs are harder than most. I only had 1 paper, whereas others had one every week. Also some of the questions on the tests are hard, so you really have to pay attention.

Pros: Funny lecturer. Gives examples and tries to make class interesting.
Cons: Hard tests. All multiple choice. The kind of tests with more that one right answer ... -__-
It really doesn't matter because he left UGA to teach somewhere else. But he was an okay teacher. I have to say my TA for breakout saved my butt in this class. :D

Pros: Hilarious, so you'll be engaged the whole time. The exams are not hard at all, you just have to make sure you go to his lectures!
Cons: He's not the nicest guy, it's really just a job for him. He doesn't care about you, but then again it was a 300 person class room... He's not very flexible with his schedule either.

Pros: Easy class! all the tests are multiple choice. all you need to do is go to class and take notes and you will do fine.
Cons: beware of the final last semester he said it would be cumulative but it was mostly questions on the last two chapters so make sure you study those last two chapters in detail

Pros: Never homework

HILARIOUS teacher

interesting lectures

Tests are not too hard
Cons: Must read everything to do well on tests

He is a great teacher and very approachable. Unfortunately you have to read a TON if you want to do well on any tests. Breakouts suck though, depends on the TA you get.
