WMST 1110
Multicultural Perspectives on Women in the United States
5*****
Pros: really opens people's eyes. I hope that people take this course, makes you think about the world a little differently.

Has midterm exam based on readings with take home essay question (2-4 pg), a short paper assignment (3-4 pg) and a final debate on a contentious social issue concerning women and society (placed in groups of three or four and debate the other side of group, randomly assigned pro or con despite your actual opinion on issue)

Fair grader and approachable. Easy to follow and understanding. Does encourage a lot of class participation. Some ELC presence with journals and reflections.
Cons: Be prepared to discuss a lot. I don't find that bad, but a lot do. The class is mostly discussion and she wants you to participate. If you don't like speaking in front of a group about controversial social issues, then I don't think this class is for you.
Good instructor. Very nice and open-minded. Fair in a class that could become insanely political.

Pros: She is SO cool! She loves literature and loves the subject she teaches. She truly cares if you understand the stuff discussed in class and requirements on projects. She tries to make the tests easy because she is "not here to fail you."
Cons: Do the readings that she tells you on the study guide....you will get a bad grade on the tests!
You don't need to do the readings on the schedule unless you want to....just read the things she tells you on the study guide. She makes this subject fun with many videos and clips. This class will definitely make you think about who you are and the world around you in a different and more detailed way.

Pros: Very informative class. Don't take this class if you're not ready to get out of the bubble you're in.
Cons: 1st test consisted of remember quotes from the readings. So, read them!! Plus they're all really interesting.
I loved this class so much I added a double major to women's studies. No you do not come out of the class being a feminist but yes you do come out appreciating women more for their struggles. Don't be discouraged if you're a guy trying to take the class. All the guys really enjoyed it! Bottom line, I learned a lot about the world in this class. It was one of those true college courses that challenged your beliefs and a positive thing came out of it.

Pros: Easy Class

Great Teacher

Don't have to do the readings

Interesting Material

I love this class. The discussions we have are interesting and keep me awake. She assigns readings but you don't have to read because we are quizzed on them. There are 2 exams, 2 journals, a critical review project, and random in class easy opinion responses.
Cons: None really besides the Critical Review Project.

You can miss this class 4 times before you have an automatic withdrawal. She takes attendance every day, and gives random in class assignments, so choose wisely when to skip.

TAKE THIS CLASS!
Exams: Multiple choice on select readings (She gives a study guide) and matching, Someone posted an outline of the readings on the exams so I just read that. You'll make an A

Journals: Easy, I did them the night before

Critical Review Project: This is the hardest thing we did in the class. You actually have to take the time out to do read your article and write a response, but everyone I know got an A so don't stress.

Take this class, easy culture credit and a great teacher!

Pros: thought that i would get a B in the class and ended up with an A! only two tests, a few pop quizzes, a final project, and multiple journal discussions
Cons: there are TONS of readings (about 10-12 pages per reading) and attendance is mandatory
there are multiple assigned readings per week but you don't have to read these readings if you don't want to because dr chambers gives a list prior to each test of the readings that will be on the exam. she gives a few "pop quizzes" about the material we've learned in class that day to check on attendance.. there's also a sign in sheet so attendance is mandatory. doesn't allow computers but i used mine and she never said anything! i thought that i would get a B+ in the class but I somehow managed to get an A with two 88s on both of the exams. Would definitely recommend her!

Pros: She's really chill and I enjoy the class discussions and movies we watched

No final, just two tests and a project

Project was easy and interesting
Cons: You talk about sex a lot, but it's interesting

She mentioned an assignment the first day of class and never mentioned it again and I didn't realize it was due and missed it
Ms. Chambers is really chill and cool. I actually enjoyed going to class and listening to discussions and watching movies. The tests aren't bad; you have to read a few articles for them but they're usually interesting. The project was easy, but there was another smaller project she only mentioned once and I didn't realize was due and got a zero, so watch out for that. Overall, a good class.

Pros: Exams are easy of you do the reading

Ms. Chambers rocks
Cons: Have to do the reading for some quizzes
Ms. Chambers leads the class very well. She is really passionate about this class. It really is an easy class, and it makes for a simple and interesting multicultural credit. She gives in class reading (pop) quizzes that are either an answer to some reflective question (which are more frequent and easier because it doesn't require that you have read), or a few short answer q's (which are usually still easy but you may have to read for them). Ms. Chambers is just a really cool and passionate woman who makes this class fun!

ISSUES IN WMST
5*****
Pros: No tests (3 very short papers), very easy grader
Cons: Group presentations at the end of the semester were a bit of a drag
Dr. Chambers is one of the nicest women I have ever met. She is very willing to help answer questions, and she's a very effective discussion leader. Most of the class is reading articles/novels and then discussing them in class. The last part of the class involves a group project which was annoying and a bore to sit through 6 of, but not terribly difficult.

Pros: Easy and informative class. Great lecture. Interesting topic. Sex ed day.
Cons: Working with other students of final project can be taxing when other's don't do adequate work. (Not Chamber's fault at all though)
Overall great class. Its a perfect balance between easy A class and also interesting at the same time. Would recommend to anyone looking for a diversity credit with a GPA booster. The only way to make a B or C in this class is to miss assignments or pop quizzes.

Pros: - So nice!

-Makes you think

-Explains things clearly and well
Cons: -Assigned group project
This class has been one of my favorites here at UGA. Chambers is a great instructor and is SO willing to help. She is very easy to approach and really wants you to do well. You frequently talk about how you feel/ how things affect you--participation is part of your grade. Overall this is a great course and it is not difficult to get an A. Take her class!

Pros: She's amazing. Really knows what she's talking about and makes every subject extremely interesting. Learned so many things in this class.
When I signed up for this course I thought it was just going to be a boring class with a lot of crazy feminists trying to convince me that men were horrible creatures. I was very wrong.

*Read and you'll do great.

She makes it a fun and easy topic to understand

Easy tests
Cons: If you're a guy, this class can get uncomfortable at times

Have to do the readings

If you're a guy, you will feel guilty at some point whilst in this class. Other than that this class is great, if you do the readings you will get good grades.

Pros: Pretty easy. Big group debate project at the end that was actually surprisingly pleasant.
Cons: Wasn't really pushed to read
Learned a lot. She's a good teacher and fun. Her main field, however, is history. That can be good or bad depending on what experience you'd like to get out of your WMST M class.

Pros: Extremely awesome teacher

Journals and in-class writing easy

Pretty interesting topics
Cons: Attendance mandatory

Lots of writing
There was a final debate project instead of a final, and a paper instead of one test. This makes good grades easy to get, but it is a little extra work.
