POLS 1101 - American Government
Fairly easy class. Just study the slides and you'll get an A. Good if you want your government requirement out of the way!
Pros: He enjoys his subject and is good at putting current events in the slides and his lectures to make it more interesting. For people not interested in in political science and just out to get their 1101 requirement out of the way, I've heard he's much better than other professors/grad students. The tests aren't too difficult and are straight off the slides. He also gives extra credit through jeopardy and a few other homework assignments.
Cons: It can be dull if you have no interest in political science or government at all. I saw that if you study the book for the tests, you'll end up getting a bunch of extraneous information.

Study well for the tests. Don't even think about buying the textbook. He doesn't even mention it.
Pros: It is a good class. Lectures can be interesting. He is a funny guy. Tests are okay.
Cons: Assignments (5) all come in one big clump towards the end of the semester which can be annoying.

Pros: The tests come straight out of the powerpoint so it's really easy to study for. His lectures are really interesting and I've never been bored in class, and I DON'T typically enjoy social studies.
Cons: You do need to study and I tend to forget to tdo the few homework assignments we have
I would definitely reccomend Clemens! he's awesome!

Pros: He's interesting, young, and tries to make poly sci interesting. class is really easy if you put effort. grades besides tests are easy to get. you should go to class
Cons: overall the guy is great, but no extra credit was given, the class is dull overall
hes a great guy, knows his material and tries to make it interesting. He was a graduate student when i took his class. Emails back right away, power points found online, tests are straight from his power points and lectures, book was not even touched. if you want an A, go to class because he takes attendence, do the 4 assignments and at least study for the tests. class average for tests he said was around 85 for each tests

Pros: He is interesting and a great teacher. His tests are literally taken straight from the powerpoints. I didn’t get the books and I still got a 98 on the first test, and I am not good at political science stuff. I highly recommend him!!
Cons: He takes attendance
I loved this class and I thought it was super easy. Great teacher

Pros: Super easy- all of his test questions come straight from his class notes: I never opened a text book for the whole semester.

The tests are mostly multiple choice, 4 short answer questions.

No papers or projects, only 5 homeworks.

The homework is easy- it's pretty much fact checking. He is not a harsh grader
Cons: none!

Pros: Young, enthusiastic teacher, manageable workload, surprisingly interesting material at times.
Cons: 2 rather boring textbooks, and a little extra reading to do on eLC for articles.
Clemens is a really down to earth guy. He really likes teaching, and he's full of random interesting facts. Bureaucracy might not be the most interesting political topic, but he makes it pretty fun, and relatable. There were only two homework assignments, one of which was watching the movie In The Loop and writing a paper on it. Funniest movie ever. Anyway, the tests are usually nothing but writing, and there's only 2. Sometimes he'll put multiple choice on them. This was his first time teaching the class, and I honestly loved it. He did a really spectacular job.

Pros: Tests are simple with a little reviewing of notes; slides are online. Gives 10 attendance grades that can help you if you come to class.
Cons: The projects are a little confusing and take some effort but are nothing to run away from. If you don't come to class at all, the attendance will hurt you.
Super nice guy that doesn't try to over-complicate the class. The tests are easy enough to get an A on with only a couple hours of studying. He tells you what the short answers will be on the test, but majority of test is multiple choice. A few opportunities for extra credit that take minimal effort. If you have to take poli-sci, take it with Clemens!
