CLAS 1010
Roman Culture
5*****
Pros: Funny and tries to keep the class engaged. He's really enthusiastic about the material and isn't really phased by the rest of the class not paying attention.

The class just has a midterm and a final so there really isn't any work for it. He's also SUPER lenient on the grading, you could get most of a question wrong and still only lose 1 or 2 points.

Cons: The tests can be hard if you don't study a bit. He names 5 people/monuments/dates/events and you have to write 5 bullet point facts about each

He quotes two passages from books you've read in the class and you have to talk about them, and the last thing is a long essay about founding/refounding myths of Rome. One or two nights of studying for this class got me an A

CLAS 1010

5*****
Pros: You can tell he loves this topic and he explains things in very easy terms. Very approachable and clarifies anything you need help with.
Cons: It is quite a bit of reading for a Maymester class. The tests are essay-tests.
He is a great professor and is willing to give you a grade you actually deserve, but you should show up to class. It will make things a lot easier for tests. The tests are essay-based, but he gives you points easily just for correlating the material to something revelant in your life or today. Understanding what's going on in the texts is key. I would recommend to everyone.

Pros: Very nice guy, interesting stuff to talk about, some light reading, nothing too hard.
Cons: ...none, actually. Great teacher, great class!
Mario Erasmo is the best professor I've had at UGA. I took this class during the summer short session 1. I made an A without much work. It was easy, but most of all, it was interesting, which is why it wasn't a drag. Take this class. It's really so worth it. One of the only elective type classes that I'm happy that I took. I can't say enough about how great he was as a teacher and how great the class was.

CLAS 1010
Roman Culture
5*****
Pros: He really wants his students to do well in his class. Extremely passionate about the course. There is one short easy paper, a midterm and final that consist of brief IDs, quotes, and one essay. He is a generous grader. Attendance is taken in the beginning of the course so he gets to know names, but rarely taken after the first few weeks.
Cons: Class and the books that you're supposed to read can get boring.
Highly suggest taking his class--great GPA booster.

Pros: He is soooooo easy. He is really funny. He thinks he is hilarious and laughs at himself. He is very into Rome. He gives you the questions to the exams before (they are usually essays). He is a really easy grader.
Cons: He is kind of boring sometimes. He doesn't get you excited about the information, but he thinks because he loves it, that you do to.

CLAS 1010

5*****
Pros: Great teacher! He is so passionate about Roman Culture and gives you a lot of interesting tips if you ever go visit there. You learn a lot about Roman Culture which is helpful for so many other classes.
Cons: Some people don't like essay tests but he leaves the prompts open enough for you that you can write any of the knowledge that you have to get it right. I personally liked it.
This is a great course for a Maymester! He realizes, unlike other teachers, that it is a short period of time to learn everything and adjusts the class accordingly. He never keeps you there the whole time but goes over everything he wants you to know. He is so nice and open to helping you! I recommend him for any course!! Also, the readings are manageable and just show up to class

CLAS 1010
Roman Culture
5*****
Pros: He's extremely passionate about the subject. Tests are essay tests and as long as you can say something vaguely related to the subject, you get a good grade. Going to class definitely helps but he doesn't explicitly take attendance every day.
Cons: The material can get very dull. His lectures some times stray from the actual topic.
Super easy A, great guy, good class to fulfill a classics requirement.

Pros: Best teacher at UGA. Really cares for the students and loves what he teaches. He makes it very easy to understand and is always ready to answer questions during and outside of class. Gets assignments back quickly and isn't a super hard grader.
Cons: Sometimes he talks fast cause he gets excited. But he'll always go back if you don't understand.
Don't miss out on him. Definitely take his class.
