Pros: She's so nice! Even at 8 AM, she's wide awake and ready to talk about statistics. She obviously loves her subject and will make every effort to help you succeed. Even if the homework can be difficult, she'll only dock a max of 3 points (out of 50 or 60 usually). If you study enough for the exams, they aren't too difficult. Usually, class didn't even feel like that long and we often got out quite early.
Cons: Like math, it's easy to make stupid mistakes on her tests, which can add up! Classes are usually in the morning and are for an HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES (two days a week).
Easily one of the best professors I've had. Her tests can be hard, but overall, it's not difficult to make an A. Take her if you need your Stat requirement out of the way!

Pros: Sweet professor

Assignments are straightforward and manageable

Willing to help, always available

Easy grader
Cons: Attendance is mandatory

Night class
I am blessed to have met and been taught by Christine Franklin. She is one of the nicest, most humble professors I may ever have. She is incredibly knowledgable and great at what she does. She's written textbooks, edited papers, and still has time for her students. The TA that we had this semester, Oguz, is also phenomenal. Incredibly relatable, helpful, and kind.

The textbook that we use in her class is Professor Franklin's own textbook and she let us read it for free during the semester--so we didn't have to buy any textbooks. Since this class only meets once a week, expect homework after every class, but it is light. Often only one worksheet with an AP Stat question or a reflection about what we're learning.

I have no regrets from taking this class, and you won't either. I feel much more prepared to be a stat teacher in the future thanks to this class.

Pros: She is the nicest person you'll ever meet. Besides genuinely wanting her students to love statistics as much as she does, she works really hard to help out students when they're struggling. She also brought us candy a few times during the semester...
Cons: She teaches almost all of her classes in the mornings, and it can be really difficult to learn statistics at 8 (or even 9) AM.
Dr. Franklin is one of my favorite people. I thoroughly hated statistics, but she honestly made it bearable. Besides being an excellent teacher, she was also extremely understanding when I had some personal things come up in my life, and she really helped me balance them with my classes. I loved her class, and I loved her as a teacher. If I didn't hate statistics, I would take another one of her classes in a heartbeat.

Pros: -explains material very well and is very knowledgeable on the subject (she wrote the book!)

-the book is fairly easy to follow and even if you miss class, you can catch up and learn the material through the book alone

-gives more than enough time to complete the homework, but there is a lot.
Cons: -lots of groupwork -- if you miss class often, your grade will suffer because in class you do worksheets as a group and get graded on them

She's very energetic and knowledgeable. She does her best to make sure that everyone in the class understands and you do enough problems in class so that there is little place for misunderstanding. She is very reasonable if you are having trouble and is willing to work around your plans in extreme cases.

Pros: Few exams

REALLY lenient on homework- only takes off a point or two for like a completely wrong homework. You just have to demonstrate that you're actually trying

Lab is built into the class- Dr. Franklin does it with you, and it's super easy

Overall easy class
Cons: Only morning slots available...ugh

Pretty picky on the exams
I got an A in the end, but it wasn't as easy as I expected. Still easy, but you DO have to know your stuff, especially the details because a lot of free response is involved in her exams.

She's really easy going and a great professor

Pros: Dr. Franklin is so sweet.

She keeps it pretty interesting for as long as its possible with such a long class.
Cons: 1hr. & 40min. classes
Dr. Franklin is such a great teacher for Honors Stat. She does awesome with a small class. The classes mostly are just note taking or group work on example problems. The tests are not hard, but I thought i did really well on the first test and was disappointed when I got it back. Make sure to explain everything you write down very thoroughly. She also allows a "cheat-sheet" for tests, one page (8.5x11) front and back.

Pros: Easy A

Super nice

Tests are weighted in your favor

Take-home final

She brings you bagels from Panera one day and its the best day ever
Cons: Gives frequent homework

Usually uses all 100 minutes of class time (not chill)

Franklin is so nice. Too nice. It's 9 in the morning and she is passionately talking about statistics to me and I'm all like "HOW ARE YOU SO HAPPY"... but its contagious. Even after an hour and 40 minutes you won't leave that class in a bad mood.
