ITAL 1001
Elementary Italian
5*****
Pros: Tests are easy as long as you take some time to look over the material.

Homework for an entire month takes about an hour to do if you are cramming.

He is the nicest guy and genuinely cares about his students.

He is funny and gets overly dramatic but Italian style which is hilarious.
Cons: There are not really any bad things I can say about him. He's the best.
Mention that your favorite soccer team is Fiorentina and you will be his favorite student hands down.

ITAL 1001
Elementary Italian
5*****
Pros: Super nice/friendly

Online quizzes are easy

Small class
Cons: Difficult tests

Somewhat difficult homework- but you get lots of chances on them

I seriously loved Dr. Kilpatrick! Even though I switched majors halfway into the semester and no longer needed a foreign language, I don't regret taking this class. I worked hard for this class for the first test, got an A, and then gradually got super lazy. The rest of the tests I received B's or C's. I only went to class once a week, and still managed to get an A- in this class. That said, you must study for the tests because if you don't you won't get an A on them. Final was easy if you actually go through the study guide he gives you. There's one group project which is kind of annoying, but Kilpatrick gives you over a month to do it. My group and I finished it within two-three days, so just make sure everyone does their part and it'll be easy. On top of that, Kilpatrick is one of the nicest professors ever. I wish all teachers were like him

ITAL 1002
Elementary Italian
3***
The material was much more challenging than the first semester Italian, so don't be fooled about that. There will be more studying required than before. All of the same structures are in place from ITAL 1001, so no real surprises.

I have really mixed feelings about Kilpatrick. I've realized that I was just spoiled from my incredible ITAL 1001 professor. Any complaints I have are likely just manifestations of that. For everyone else, he cares, he's passionate about Italian, and he's relatable. He's everything you would wish from a good professor.

ITAL 1002
Elementary Italian
5*****
Pros: I loved the class. Kilpatrick is fun and interacts with the students. He made the subject actually fun to learn. Tests are not too bad. I made B's on the tests and came out with an A-.
It was a good class. I liked learning Italian.Make sure you do the online Italian homework. It's not technically due until right before the tests so there is some leniency, but it's a lot to do the night before. But it's easy so it should not take more than an hour if you focus.Take his class. You will like it a lot.

ITAL 1002
Elementary Italian
4****
Pros: Helpful if you have any questions

Lets you drop a test and retake another test
Cons: Class taught in Italian
I really like Kilpatrick; he's cool and the class isn't that hard if you study and put some effort in. The only drawback is that he teaches in Italian. It's not so bad once you get used to it and he'll repeat some things in English if you ask, but if you're really gonna struggle with that, take Antonelli.

Pros: All around awesome guy. He really cares about his students and grades MORE than fairly. Just show him you're giving more than minimal effort and he'll work with you, especially if you're having a lot of trouble.
He teaches entirely in Italian, so I would especially recommend him if you're set on learning the language and getting more than just another grade.

Pros: The project is a play at the end of the semester. We were allowed to use notecards. Homework is really easy and you get the answers before you get another chance to answer.
