INTRO REL THOUGHT
5*****
Pros: She's really nice. The workload is light consisting of easy reading quizzes and "participation". The midterm was an easy essay.
Cons: The quizzes are weekly as are readings, but they're easy

Only 6 absences allowed.

There is one funeral project. It's not bad at all though.

Pros: Extremely nice teacher! If you talk to her she can help you with pretty much any issue your having. Class is mostly discussion which is nice. Small workload.
Cons: Weekly reading quizzes, but the reading is usually pretty easy and the quizzes are T/F which make them easy.

Takes attendance, but you are allowed 6 absences for the semester.
Overall a great teacher. I would love another class with this teacher.

Pros: She's really consistent in regard to her teaching and expectations; so students are never left wondering about what is expected of them. In addition, she's very nice and has a good sense of humor.
Cons: She lectures straight through the class, and the lectures are not terribly exciting.
The class is basically lecture and homework. To get a good grade, pay attention during the lectures (you don't even have to actively participate) and do the weekly homework assignments (really easy quizzes on the assigned readings).

Pros: Quirky, fun, young teacher who's relatable, not monotone, makes the material engaging. Unbiased, presents material in a fair way.
Cons: Weekly online quizzes, only 5 questions, but they're easy. Still, you need the books (4, I believe, in all) to do them. Need to show up to breakouts. Early on, she took lecture attendance, but she stopped that a long time ago.
3 tests: 1 on Judaism, 1 on Christianity, 1 on Islam. She likes to tie things together, make comparisons, and that sort of thing, to make things easier to understand, and more interesting. This class isn't too deep, so it's not hard at all. Breakout was really interesting at times. Online quizzes on the readings, 1 a week, and they're easy, overall. Sometimes, in lecture, she lets TAs teach, and they can be good or bad, depending on your tastes. Their material doesn't show up much on tests. The lectures are good, because she has a great sense of humor. Also, she's pretty cute! So, there's that :-P

5*****
Pros: She's enjoyable to listen to and her class moves quickly. She's quirky and seems to truly enjoy this class and class discussions. Participation is easy, as well as the work load. Weekly quizzes and readings along with a funeral project and exam. As long as you can support your statements, then you'll do fine, no matter your stance on a subject.
Cons: Quizzes are tedious and the instructions for the funeral project where a little vague.

Pros: class is really interesting; usually tells random stories and used memes and funny pictures in our class... my TA was super nice (take Kendra! she's seriously THE BEST)
Cons: weekly quizzes on readings; doesn't allow computers in class & doesn't post any of her prezis online; TAs can be mean (depending on who you have) and attendance is mandatory
This class is definitely recommended! Although there are weekly quizzes on the readings, a LOT of people didn't even own the books and looked up everything online. However, I actually read & found the readings to be interesting. the quizzes are SUPER easy (about 5 true/false). The exams are intimidating - true/false, short answer, multiple choice, and there's ALWAYS an essay. The essay is usually about the readings. The final was definitely the easiest exam so don't stress about that! The class wasn't an EASY easy A BUT if you put in work and actually study the material then you should definitely come out with an A in the class! :)

Pros: She's an extremely engaging professor with a great sense of humor. She leads incredible discussions that really make you think.

Grades are very fair and it's easy to do well. The quizzes almost assure that you'll be caught up and know what's going on the whole time.
Cons: A lot of quizzes. They're all online, but there was one for every class meeting, so it could be a bit of a burden to keep up with them. They aren't difficult, there are just a lot of them.
If you have a religion requirement, find this course and take it. If you need an elective, find this course and take it. I looked forward to every class. You can really get a lot out of the course if you give it the time it deserves.

Pros: Dr. Lyon is very amicable and intelligent, she presents the material very well and from an unbiased and purely academic perspective. Her love for the subject is apparent and she does her best to make the lectures interesting.
Cons: The weekly quizzes are only 5 questions but can be done at home and are fairly easy. There are three tests including the final, none of which are cumulative. These along with the participation grade are the only grades so there is little room for error however the class is easy enough so that this shouldn't be a problem.

Pros: Dr. Lyon is really AWESOME!

She makes class really fun!

She shows videos and has lots of stories
Cons: Online Quizzez due before class on WED.

TA lectures are SO BORING

She doesn't post her slides online for the class

You're required to know alot of detail for test (don't forget how to spell your jewish words)
She was really accomadating. She sent me all her Prezi's before class, and she replied quickly to emails. I would reccomend taking her class. Easy A/A-

Pros: Good teacher. Makes the class fun and tells a lot of stories to keep the class interested.
Cons: Essays make up major portions of the test grade, and the grading of these depends on your TA.
Has participation questions at the beginning of the semester to make sure you attend class, but the only other homework/quizzes are the reading of the books.

Pros: She's so funny, which makes class more fun. Light workload -- eLC reading quizzes for homework. You need only 3 novels for the class (tip: they're all in the library! No need to buy them)
Cons: She tries to get some interesting class discussions going, but it can get boring sometimes
Take this class! Easy A, and very intriguing material

Pros: Could be a very easy class.
Cons: Tests consist of fill in the blank and true/false. They also include an essay that we were told we wouldn't do well on if we only wrote three paragraphs. It is a 50 minute class. Don't ever know your class grade because there is so much info that she keeps to herself like "participation"
