Pros: There is quite a bit of extra credit (about 5 to 6% of the final grade) to boost your grade, and all you have to do is go to class. Some of the material is very useful for students entering the workforce.
Cons: The tests tend to nitpick specific details (percentages, statistics, etc.), but not enough to cause huge problems. A lot of the material is never covered in class, however, and only in the book. Also, the notes are fill-in-the-blank and she doesn't allow technology, which means you will be going through a ton of paper and ink for printing the notes.

HACE 3100 - INTRO CONS ECON
Pros: She is knowledgeable and sometimes funny. Lots of extra credit opportunities available. She is accommodating and fairly kind. She has a strict syllabus, however, so don't try looking for curves or more extra credit. If you want a word for word test on notes and books, take her.
Cons: She is on quite the power trip. Her exams are extremely technical and test your memory as opposed to your knowledge. She asks lots of trick questions. If you do take her, you have to be sure to have her power points printed off for every class or you're pretty much stuck without nots. Try to get her on a MWF because the TR classes dragggg onnn forevverrr.

Despite trying to give the impression of a strict professor, she is really a compassionate person who wants her students to succeed and learn valuable life lessons. At the end of the course she suddenly made the final exam optional, which means the lowest test grade is dropped. With this and the extra credit, this class really boils down to being about useful information and not really about the grade. Definitely an easy class to get a good grade in.

Class structure: There are three midterm exams (and an optional final) with a short homework assignment before each. Plenty of extra credit.

Pros: There is alot of extra credit so even if you don't do well on the test you will be okay. The tests mostly come from the slides and a little from the reading. Not difficult but there is some studying involved. Great elective to take if your other classes are hard.
Cons: There are test questions from the reading so you can't rely solely on your notes. The tests involve alot of statistics that you have to memorize. No computers or cell phones in class she is a stickler about this..And if you get caught cheating, then she will come down on you hard!

Pros: Awesome teacher who engages the students.

Tons of extra credit just for attending class

No attendance required

Exams were straight forward
Cons: Lots of quizes and homework

Textbook costs a bit but you honestly dont need it
One of the best professors I have had at UGA. She really cares about teaching the students how to make good financial choices. She allowed people to exempt the final if they already had the grade they wanted. If you are looking for an easy class where you actually learn real life skills then take this.

Pros: Very nice lady. super sweet.
Cons: class is hard, and people keep stealing the tests. I do not blame her for getting frustrated about it, so she makes the exams harder and harder.
Take it spring, Fall 2012 is supposed to be impossible. THis is NOT an easy A class anymore.

Pros: Great teacher, really energetic but content can be boring at times. However she does give fill in the blank notes!
Cons: Tests focus on names, dates, and other specific facts. Read all the book stuff AND study the inclass notes really well and you will do great.
She told us this semester (Fall 2011) will be the last semester to have lecture style class and that the new class will be smaller groups. She said there will be quiz's and possibly a project so just a FYI. I would still recommend her as a teacher. And i can not say this enough read the book before class because she gives ton's of extra credit as inclass pop-quiz's. It can only help your grade like it did mine

Pros: She is a very animated lecturer and she jokes around a lot, so class doesn't get too boring. In fact, she's actually really, really funny. The notes are fill in the blank, but if you can get those from someone else, it is not a problem to miss class. The tests are fairly simple. They are based off practice problems she does in class and the assignments she gives for homework on eLC, so if you study those, you are basically set. I would definitely recommend taking this class. Overall, Moorman is awesome!
Cons: Must buy a financial calculator, which are not terribly expensive. Also, the book is never used, so that ends up offsetting the cost.

Pros: - Very enthusiastic

- Very structured class

- Extremely willing to work with you (a lot of people missed a test because they thought we were allowed a drop test; she talked to the department, and got them to approve a drop test for the class because of the situation)

- Provides powerpoints for class notes
Cons: - has a tendency to change the dates of homework assignments, which can be a little disconcerting at times; however, she always makes an announcement in class when she does
I loved this class, and I adored this teacher. I'm an English major--meaning I'm absolutely terrible at anything remotely math-minded--but she made the material extremely easy to grasp, so long as you went to class. My suggestions for anyone taking this class would be (1) DEFINITELY go to class (it makes it easier to learn how to use the math formulas, & she gives extra credit in-class) (2) check eLC daily because she does change the dates when homework is due quite frequently (3) Bring copies of the notes to class so you can fill them out, because you probably won't be able to hand-write all the notes on your own (she goes way too quickly for that)

Pros: First off, she is just a great person. Helpful and funny. You can tell she really cares about the subject and wants to inform students.

Secondly, her material is very practical and could be useful to you later in life.

Lastly, not a hard class. Show up and take the notes and you will get at least a B.
Cons: You have to come to class to get all the notes because she puts blanks in the ones she posts.

Some of the chapters are kinda useless.

I have had three classes with her and although she always says that she has a mandatory final she never does. Its optional and replaces your lowest grade. There were 4 online assignments but they are all easy and short.

Oh and the best part about the class is she gives lots of extra credit just for showing up.

Overall, probably one of the coolest and most interesting professors ive had in my 4 years at UGA

Cons: Nothing worth mentioning

Pros: A lot of extra credit given in class, she shows funny videos before class starts
Cons: Lectures can be pretty boring, A LOT of content. Tests are really detailed and ask questions about content you would probably deem unimportant in the 4-5 chapters she assigns for reading, so make sure that you know ALL of it
