LATN 1001
Elementary Latin I
5*****
Pros: Reviews before the tests, gives a synopsis of each exam; open to questions; has an amazing personality, funny and quirky; keeps you awake during an 8 a.m. By far my favorite class
Cons: Has vocab/grammar quizzes almost everyday, lots of memorization
I would definitely take him again; he's helpful and always happy. I'm signed up to take him next semester for Latin 1002 and looking forward to it.

Pros: Great professor, personable, funny, tries to make it fun as possible, and teaches the material well, reviews before test and everything. Test are not overly difficult
Cons: Lots of studying and memorization required for test, and quizzes are almost daily but it's almost necessary for a new language
Awesome professor, awesome, awesome, awesome

LATN 1001
Elementary Latin I
5*****
Pros: Not hard of a class. Only one new thing to study daily so that the material for each chapter is spread out and not taught all together.

Yes: Extra credits, bonus points, friendly tests (same format), daily quizzes, rare homework.
Cons: Morning class. Couldn't really stay focused towards the end of the semester.. But that had nothing to do with the teacher. I'm not a morning person.
Great and lovely guy: always listens to students and is always willing to help. He's very enthusiastic and funny. He loves everyone and loves teaching Latin. He sometimes has interesting facts on how words came about. He is more of a friend than a teacher, but that doesn't mean he doesn't teach; he teaches very well and goes over everything to the very last detail. He goes over the test well before the test day and gives several bonus questions (some are funny, others from Latin G&M stories, rarely on interesting facts disscused in class). Class goes by the book and there are plenty of exercises and everyday quizzes (I believe all Latin class has this). He has a general form of lecture so you would get used to the class quickly. Extra credit consisted of replying in Latin to an invitation to Latin convention and / or attending the event. It's a friendly class. I'm taking him for Latin 1002.

ENGL 1101
English Composition I
5*****
Pros: -Great character. Very funny. Overall just a good person. The man pretended to be Scottish the first day.

-Class lectures are always very interesting.

-Very open to talking, explaining, or meeting after class.

-Allows you to explore writing and make it less strict while making you a better writer.
Cons: -My class liked to get off topic a lot, but he never really enforced getting back on to topic. Just a personal con for someone who was so interested in the class.
I absolutely hated English before taking this class. Now I'd do anything to have him for ENGL 1102.

LATN 1002
Elementary Latin II
5*****
Pros: Loved this class! Not because of the subject matter (2nd semester Latin is difficult) but because of the prof. Andy was really funny and brilliant. He could answer any questions we had thoroughly. Tests are pretty easy--made an A on three of them and a 96 on the final
Cons: Sometimes he gets a bit sidetracked and goes off on random tangents. And there is tons of homework--translating sentences from book, G&M, and paragraphs, but all helpful.
Go for Pacz if you have to take Latin!

Cons: The class goes at a really fast pace. There is a ton to learn.
