RELI 1006
Religions of the World
5*****
Umesh has been one of my favorite teachers so far at UGA. He really cares about his students and is always willing to help if you need it. He keeps the class interesting and understands that RELI 1006 isn't everyone's first priority. The quizzes he gives at the end of each section are pretty easy as long as you study for a bit the night before. Apart from the class, Umesh is really cool and understanding. I'd love to take another class with him before I graduate.

Religions of the World
5*****
Pros: Umesh truly cares about his students and knows that you have other things going on in your life besides his class. He tells you pretty much everything that will be on the tests, which is super helpful. As long as you go to class and pay attention you will do great. Definitely take his class if you have the opportunity to!! You won't regret it.

RELI 1003
Introduction to Religious Thought
5*****
Pros: This class is unlike any other at UGA. Patel genuinely cares about his students, and ultimately wants to make you a better person. Class is discussion based and the discussions are actually valuable to real life experiences and conflicts. Easily the most inspirational and fun class you can take at this University!
Cons: none.

RELI 1006
Religions of the World
5*****
Pros: Fantastic class! He doesn't ask too much of the students which makes learning so much easier. He says he changes things every semester and our class was taught with primary sources (Bible, Quran, Bhagavad Gita, etc.) which was a cool approach.
Cons: None really. The tests could have been difficult if you didn't come to class. He assigns readings so you have to do it if you expect to get something out of the class.
Overall this was a great class. I'm upset that he's not on the schedule for the spring semester...I was hoping to take his 1003 class since I heard it was amazing. Hopefully he'll be back in the summer or fall. He is definitely worth taking a class with!

Pros: Explains things very well.

You will want to go to class!
Umesh Patel is a great professor. He realizes that an educational course doesn't mean it has to be obscenely difficult. I learned a lot in this class! It was fascinating and fun to learn about world religions I knew little about.
