Pros: Great Teacher

Funny

Loves what he is teaching

Goes into depth

Very helpful
Cons: You need to read textbook if you want to make a solid A+ on all his tests, but an A is still possible without the textbook.
Jim is a great teacher and very funny. By far on of my most favorite classes at UGA so far, and it is very easy. You don't have to put much time in the class and there is very little reading. He wants all his students to get A's so he gives lots of chances for extra credit. Just make sure to study for his tests some and you'll be set.

Pros: Very exciting way of teaching. Lectures are fun and interactive.

The slides are on the powerpoints
Cons: Exams are mostly short answer, meaning you should have an idea of what you are talking about.
This professor is really trying to help you learn. If you go to class and listen to the lectures, it is really easy to recall the information come exam time. There are study guides given, and I suggest, DO THE STUDY GUIDE! It will help you 95% of the time on the exam. Also, if you need help he answers your questions through emails. Very helpful!

DON'T GET THE BOOK! Test questions come directly from his powerpoints with roughly 5 (out of 75) questions that come solely from the book. Every time I read the book, I did worse on tests than if I just studied the powerpoints. DON'T GET THE BOOK!

He gives pop attendance quizzes, and you get credit if you write ANYTHING on the paper.

Other than studying for tests, you don't have to do any outside work.

TAKE STRINGHAM. Easy A. Lots of extra credit opportunities. He WANTS you to succeed.

Pros: I loved this class. He is a great and enthusiastic professors. Posts slides. There are in-class assignments that count as much as the tests are pretty much based on attendace
Cons: The subject is difficult, but Jim is awesome
Study the lectures and study guide and you should be fine

Pros: He is a cool guy and tries to make the class as interesting as possible. He is willing to sit down with his students, and he even helped me decide my major and area of specialization.
Cons: The powerpoints are very detailed, and sometimes it's hard to decide what to study. Test count for 60% of the grade, so if you're not a good test taker then this could be problematic

This class is pretty easy, and he is a super nice guy. If you show up and pay attention it will be a good semester. The Minute Paper are like pop quizzes; however you get full credit if you come to class, no matter if you answer the correctly or not. They are easy, mostly opinion based questions. You don't have to read the chapters but they could help on a test.

Pros: - Everything counts the same percentage!

- 4 75-question exams (Multiple choice)

- He gives you 10 of the questions ahead of time.

- 13 Minute Papers; If you do them you get credit for them. Only 10 count for a 100, but if you do the extra 3 they count for 30 extra points on any test. So if you made a 70 on a test, those 30 points would make it a 100.

- 100 question final BUT he gives you ALL THE QUESTIONS.

- Attendance isn't mandatory.
Cons: - Class can be a little boring sometimes.
Nice class to take for a GPA booster. He's a really nice guy who is looking out for his students.

Pros: He gives THE EXAM QUESTIONS ahead of time. He just omits the answer choices before releasing them on elc.

He gives extra credit at random lectures.

No attendance required!

Posts powerpoints on elc.

Very laid back. Should be borderline illegal on how laid back he is (for the stupid out there, that was a joke)
Cons: Students work together to come up with the answers on a google doc to the exam questions, but the way he words his answer choices makes it kinda hard. We did notice that a good portion of his exams were almost verbatim from a textbook's review questions, so try to find it.

His multiple choices are tricky. He may give the exam questions ahead of time, but you still miss some cause this isn't intro to psych and you probably didn't look THAT hard for the full answer when you were studying.
Although it was the easiest class of my semester, it was my lowest grade (I got an A in biochem in the same semester) It's one of those classes where it's so easy that you barely put in any effort because of it. DON'T SLACK OFF. If you don't, you'll get an A, especially if you go to class and score that extra credit points! I honestly regret not going to class...I would've gotten an A if I did because of the extra credit.

Pros: - funny and friendly professor

-Gives out answers to some of the questions on the test before the test.

- Final= free A (he will give you the copy of exact final)

- few of his minute paper (which are graded by participate not accuracy) will count as extra credit. (10 points each...which is amazing)

Cons: -long tests

-large class

He doesn't take attendance but there is minute paper given out at random days

only grade from this class was the tests and minute paper (research credit does not count as grade). some minute paper (about 3) counts as extra credit! 10 points each to your final grade or test grades (so if you made like 70 on one test minute paper will bring that 70 to 100).

tests are long....about 70 questions (around that number) if I remember correctly and they are mostly from the powerpoints. It can be tricky but there are some old test on koofers and they are almost exactly alike!

Very friendly and funny. will keep the class moderately interesting.

gives out some of the answers to the test before and gives out the whole final before. (basically final is free 100)

overall I think he is the easiest psychology professor!

Pros: Love this guy!

Super cute too
TAKE THIS CLASS WITH STRINGHAM

He is the best. Don't need to use the book, all questions are multiple choice and if you have any common sense you shouldn't make below a 80 on them. He posts his powerpoints and the test questions come straight from them, so there is no reason to take notes.

You do, however have to come to class. Minute papers (basically I am here quizzes) are worth 20% of your grade (the same amount of your final). But he's funny and the class is very interesting, so making it to class everyday isn't really that hard anyway.

Pros: - Funny Guy

- Genuinely wants you to learn the material

- Gave out the EXACT test questions a week before any test

- Class attendance helps with your understanding but reviewing the supplied test questions a few days before was enough to score well
Cons: - Online Textbook work was time consuming and annoying, however he did not end up grading it.

- Expected to do "research labs" or something for psych department but I didnt do them and still got an A-
Awesome Teacher, Great Guy, Great Experience. You can tell he loves what he does, and is not out to punish you.

Pros: Stringham is awesome. He made the class interesting, even though it was a lecture with 300 people. My major has nothing to do with psychology, but I loved this class. Tests aren't too difficult, a few hours of late night cramming and I came out with an A in the class. Final was awesome, he gave us all the questions.
Cons: He does do random in class "minute papers" which is his way of taking attendance. It's not too often, and towards the end of the year he usually ends up counting some as extra credit to make up for ones you've missed.

Pros: He is really funny and posts all of the notes online. He also gives you ten of the answers for each test and keeps class very interesting.
Cons: You have to go to class everyday, because a large portion of your grade is based on randomly given minute papers. They are really easy though.
Jim is my favorite teacher I've had since being at UGA. He keeps class interesting and wants you to do well. He is very approachable, and it is very easy to make an A in his class. Especially since he gives you a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Pros: -He is an AMAZING TEACHER

-He is hilarious in class, which helps make his powerpoint lecture more interesting.

-You need to take him!

-SO much extra credit for almost doing nothing

-Gave us the questions to the final and gave out 10 questions for 2 different tests
Cons: -He does attendance checks at random so you have to go to class but its so big it doesn't matter if you pay attention or not

You need to take him. If your looking for an easy A then you got it, if you interested in Psych you also got it! TAKE HIM

Pros: Hilarious professor.

Stringham is always reasonable when you miss a minute paper (pop quizzes that make you answer a question for attendance)

Online assignments that are easy and altogether worth a test grade

Tests come straight from power points

He gives you questions on the test

HE GIVES YOU THE WHOLE FINAL EXAM QUESTION SHEET BEFORE THE FINAL (AKA YOU'RE GETTING A 100 ON THE FINAL!!!!)
Cons: 6.5 Research requirement for all psychology classes. Don't procrastinate cause they suck.

Pros: Funny, interesting
Cons: Hard to pay attention sometimes
Go to class because you get pop attendance quizzes. Stringham is cool but he kind of stopped showing up later in the semester and we had a couple guest speakers. Notes are on the slides so it's pretty easy. You definitely have to study though. There's stupid online homework that is very tedious and can take a long time, based off of the text book.

Pros: - If you go to class (which there is no reason not to, because he is a GREAT teacher and not at all boring,) you'll earn major extra credit points by doing minute papers, which are super easy

- The class is an easy A but you'll also learn tons!
Cons: - Honestly, none!
- Most old tests are online, but even if they weren't, they are pretty straightforward! All the info comes straight from the powerpoints!

Stringham is great. Take this class if you can! His tests are not difficult, and he gives out a lot of extra credit during the course and right around the final. His lectures are not boring, and I really learned a lot of interesting stuff in this class!

Pros: AMAZING PROFESSOR. He really cares about what the class has learned from the class. I loved listening to his lectures. He makes things really relavent and wonderful. The class is also really easy.
Cons: His TA only taught the class twice (he's usually there) but she was AWFUL. If she's teaching, skip and get the notes online.
