EDIT 2000
Introduction to Computers for Teachers
5*****
I'm going to start by prefacing this by what everyone is looking for - this class is an easy A. She informed us that you have to work really hard to fail and she wants everyone to get an A.

There are a number of projects but she allows us plenty of class time to work on them. Class gets canceled a lot for days to work on projects or when we are way ahead of where we need to be. She also gives out late passes which is very helpful when you have a project due the week before Thanksgiving. Also, class usually finishes early so it's more like a 50 minute class than 75.

I wouldn't take this class unless you are super excited about whatever subject you want to teach or really passionate about CMSD. The projects revolve around the future subject/grade you want to teach or CMSD, and without passion in those areas you're not really going to get a lot of the project and it's going to seem extremely tedious.

The projects and assignments are not at all hard, but they do require some creative thinking. She always had us reflect upon our projects afterwards which is a great way to help you realize how much you learned.

She is extremely helpful and understanding. She is great at explaining things and helping you along when you need it. She can give an objective eye when needed. I would not hesitate asking her for help with anything, even once I'm no longer in her class.

I'd definitely recommend Gretchen to anyone taking this class. She was always in a good mood and super energetic, which could be very infectious. She truly loves what she teaches and that makes the class infinitely better.

Pros: There are no tests. Gretchen is very enthusiastic about the subject and tries her best to make the class fun.
Cons: Slow to grade.
Excellent teacher for EDIT 2000. All of the grades in this course are dependent upon your work on the projects. The projects she assigns are very relevant for the material we are expected to learn.

Pros: This class was SOOO easy. It was also really interesting though. The course is project based, there are no quizzes or tests. There are probably two projects a week on average. You are always given class time to work on them.

You can also win late passes and extra credit points really easily during class.
Cons: My one and only complaint about this class is the grading system. My teacher used a google doc with each student to give us grades. However, instead of a letter or number grade it was more like feedback on your projects. So, at some points it was a little unclear what you had in the class.
I would definitely take this teacher. The class is super easy and requires maybe 2 hours outside of class each week to make an easy A!

Pros: She is so enthusiastic! Such a great teacher. She is truly trying to find the best apps for teaching.

The projects are relevant to what you learn in class. You get the freedom to choose whatever you want to do your project on.

Taiwanese penpals!
Cons: Book. You have to do these dumb worksheets on stuff you read in the book (there's only 3 though)

Lots of projects.
Gretchen is super cool and is very helpful. You will learn a lot of cool things about technology in this class!

Pros: Easy A class

She wouldn't let anyone fail

Really sweet lady
Cons: Projects are so boring and time consuming

Lots of boring 'lecture'
She doesn't exactly lecture but talks a lot about the different things we are doing in class (duh) but its so boring. The topics are boring and the projects are really time consuming. She does give 'late passes' and is lenient with grades and due dates. Overall its an easy A but be prepared to waste some time with the assignments.
