Pros: Very easy class
The class could get boring at times and you have to take a lot of notes but it was sooooo easy. His three tests are non-cumulative and he doesn't give a final at the end of the semester. Instead, he gives you your third test during the scheduled final. His tests are forty-some multiple choice and they are incredibly easy. It's a common class for athletes to take since it's so easy so if you're looking for an easy requirement class this is the one.

Pros: I really enjoyed this class and thought that Dr. Wood was an excellent teacher. There's no final in the class, only a third test that's usually given on the last day of class. The tests are also relatively easy and not cumulative. He also offers a lot of extra credit opporunities, and his TAs are always willing to meet with you. The writing assignments are also graded very fairly; just make sure that follow all the guidelines.
Cons: He doesn't post the powerpoints from lecture online, so if you miss class you have to rely on getting the notes from someone else.
You're only allowed three days to miss class. There are two five page writing assignments for the course.

This class was so interesting (contrary to what other people say). I'd constantly come out of class boasting to all my friends what I learned in anthropology. This course is DEFINITELY not hard whatsoever. If you go to class every day, take notes, do the extra credit things, write good papers, you will get a solid A in the class. I got a 96 and I never even did any of the extra credit. I also found the subject matter very interesting. He's a great teacher as well! I could tell he really loved what he taught which makes it all better.

Pros: No homework other than reading

Lots of videos

Lots of guest speakers

Really easy tests
Cons: Tests sometimes pull from readings

Two papers, though they are easy
Dr. Wood can be boring at times, but he is definitely worth it--he is fantastically brilliant. I had a lot of Chemistry homework and studying to do, but still managed to make an A in Anthropology. I really would recommend Wood over any other Anth professor. He seemed to be the easiest of what I've heard.

Pros: There are extra credit lectures around campus he will tell you about, and give you 3 extra credit points each time you go and write a short response.
Cons: Attendance is checked every class and the power points are not posted on elc, where most of the exam material is from.
He is very enthusiastic about anthropology, the lectures are relatively straightforward, and if you take notes and review, you'll get a good grade

Pros: Great prof

Easy Tests

LOTS of extra credit

Easy paper
Cons: Doesn't post power points

Can go a little fast sometimes
Dr Wood is a FANTASTIC professor. I really liked him a lot. He is funny guy and doesn't just read off the power point, he adds his own input. Some days he'd walk in holding a box of skulls in one arm and his motorcycle helmet in the other. Totally BA. He allows for tons of extra credit. There is no reason you should not get an A in his class, he gives you everything you need to do so. Second easiest class I have taken at UGA, and also one of my favorites.

Pros: Knows his stuff really well. Very interested in the subject. He plays videos every once and a while and gives you a piece of paper with like 5 fill in the blank questions for a participation grade.
Cons: A lot of information. Takes roll every day
There is a lot of information in this course but as long as you read your notes and keep up with the book(even though I did not and have an A) you will be fine.

Pros: easy
3 tests and 2 essays. I was nervous for the first test but it was much easier than expected--just read your notes and skim the book. The essays are only 4-5 pagers, so those weren't bad.

ANTH 1102

Pros: - Passionate Professor

- TAs were both approachable and reasonable

- Videos, Guest Speakers, Movies used to aid lecture

- Extra credit opportunities given by attending lectures and writing paragraph summaries

Cons: - Attendance mandatory

- Only 3 exams but 2 papers (5 pg each) as well

- Reading textbook is necessary for success on exams
This class was so interesting (contrary to what other people say). This course is DEFINITELY not hard whatsoever. If you go to class every day, take notes on lecture/ppt, attend extra credit seminars, stick to the prompt for papers, an A is possible in the class. Wood is passionate about Anthropology and thus makes it easy to stay on task and pay attention to him. Exams are MC and based off both lecture and textbook readings. Papers are on not only interesting but easy topics that give student chance to make paper personal and use your opinion. Adhere to prompt and formatting directions and they are easy A's. Attendance is mandatory and will affect grade. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COURSE

ANTH 1102

Pros: Really cool, friendly guy

Engaging, knows his stuff

Tests are easy

You get a test grade worth of points for attendance

There are tons of extra credit opportunities if you have trouble on a test
Cons: Takes attendance every day

Material can be kind of dry

No ELC at all

Two papers (but they aren't awful!)
I would definitely recommend this class. Besides the papers, it does not involve too much work outside of class. If you are a person that does not regularly attend your classes, be warned, you only have three free skips in this class. Dr. Wood is awesome though...if you need a world language/culture class, this is a good one to take.

Pros: Really passionate about the subject and knows what he's talking about. He's pretty entertaining when he talks about some topics. Let's you know about outside lectures related to anthropology that are extra credit.
Cons: Really strict on attendance and paying attention in class. He doesn't tell you what's on the tests so you have to study everything, but they aren't hard if you take good notes and know the major points.
There are 2 papers, about 6-8 pages long. You have to really think about them, so start on them early. The TAs are helpful. If you aren't a fast writer, take your laptop to class to take notes.
