Pros: Doesn't take attendance, and if you miss a class all you have to do is read the textbook (which he wrote) and it's basically the same thing that you read in the textbook.
Cons: Often gets repetitive, especially if you had him for 104/105.
I had Holmes for Psych 105 and the first two and a half weeks or so were the exact same things that I learned in 105, which saved me a lot of studying for the first test.

Pros: He makes the class interesting and the tests are not extremely difficult if you read the material assigned and review past exams.
Cons: If you do not read any material and never attend class your grade will suffer.
Great teacher but he is strict and demands respect from his students. NEVER LEAVE CLASS EARLY and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS HE GIVES YOU FOR THE EXAM.

Pros: Very Knowledgeable

Very Nice

Lots of Past Experiences

Cons: Expects to Much

Information Overload

Not Modern
He doesn't teach what he asks for on the test. Studying almost is not enough for his class. He asks some easy common sense questions, but then most of the other questions are long and hard to follow. I would not recommend a lecture with him.

Dr. Holmes was my favorite professer during my undergraduate work at the University of Kansas. My classes with him inspired me to move on with my Masters in clinical psychology work. Considering a Doctorate now as well. He is insightful, interesting, challenging, and passionate about his field of study.
