BCHM 461
Biochemistry I
2**
Pros: Lectures were organized and straightforward.
Cons: Lectures were extremely dull and slow. Most of the information was review from previous classes, and did not seem like adequate preparation for future biochemistry courses. Exams are completely calculation based, you can easily get an A without understanding any biochemistry if you can use the equations.

BCHM 461
Biochemistry I
2**
Pros: 2 midterms and a final,

decent curve,

don't need to go to lecture
Cons: 2 midterms and a final,

boring,

does not teach,

office is out of the way
Possibly my worst professor ever in terms of teaching. He will answer your questions if you can think of one to ask, but take the class with someone else

BCHM 461
Biochemistry I
1*
Pros: None really
Cons: Awfully boring lectures, not helpful at all for what to know for exams. Use to be open note, but changed for THIS SEMESTER.
Don't take him. Ever.

BCHM 461
Biochemistry I
3***
Pros: He teaches the material well
Cons: He doesn't test on the content itself, but on mathematical applications of the content. As a non-chemistry, non-engineering major, this math-based upper level chemistry course was very difficult for me. It wasn't that I didn't know the concepts, it was that I couldn't work through math problems involving the concepts because I can't work through math problems in general.

BCHM 461
Biochemistry I
3***
Pros: He's a nice guy, and knows what he's talking about.
Cons: He expects you to be able to follow what he's talking about even if he doesn't explain or go into detail. He has an accent but it's easy to become attuned to.
Go over the old exams and really understand them. They are a great way to study for his exams and sometimes even have the same exact problems.
