4853. Global Development : Issues and Challenges. 3 hours. Explores competing perspectives for development and the various factors which explain why some countries are more developed than others. Survey of global challenges such as environmental, foreign aid, gender empowerment, international migrants, refugees and indigenous people, the role of culture and religion in development, and Corruption and public sector reform. Prerequisite(s) : International Studies Majors whose area of concentration is International Development and Regional Studies and senior status.
