CHEM 2370 - Organic Chemistry
Don't go into Dandy's class expecting to coast through without any effort. If you assume you can do this, you will fail. Do the work, study intensely and you'll be fine.

CHEM 3210
Organic Chemistry Laboratory
2**
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Only worth 1 credit hour when 10+ hours a week are spent for this class

This lab is the most ridiculous lab I've taken to date. My TA was terrible, and like every other lab, the experiments never work. It was normal for students in the lab to spend 7-8 hours a week outside of the already 3 hour long lab working on homework assigned by the TA for 1 hour of credit. I seriously just want to cuss and rant for an hour about how horrible this lab was.

Pros: She is a very intelligent professor and gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit.
Cons: The class is difficult to understand so a lot of extra time is required to make a good grade.

Pros: A lot of extra credit.
Cons: She doesn't believe in teaching. She rarely visualizes what she is talking about, and O Chem is 90% visual.
I do not recommend taking this professor. She does not teach during her lectures. In order to learn you have to go to tutoring sessions outside of class provided by her former students. She never explains what she is talking about. You are expected to already know Organic Chemistry before she lectures. She spends most of lecture time showing you links on blackboard or rambling about random subjects. On the upside she does offer a ton of extra credit, and the constant homework provides a good measure of what you are supposed to be learning.
