Pros: -Teaches good, easy to understand methods

-Explains methods clearly, writes out all steps

-Tests and quizzes are very straight forward (no tricks or surprises)

-Understanding if need to miss 1-2 classes or if running late

-Flexible with homework

Cons: -Very rude and inconsiderate

-Very inpatient and hateful when students ask questions

-Makes people feel stupid

-Refuses to admit when she makes a mistake

Dr. Childers is good at explaining how to do math via certain methods, but she's extremely rude and hateful towards students. I'm taking her Finite Mathematics course and she makes everyone feel stupid. She will say things like, "Don't look at what the book says - that method is too advanced for us to learn. We're going to use a method that they teach in high school." I don't think she realizes how this makes people feel. Most people are too afraid to ask her questions because they don't want to get snapped at or embarrassed in front of the class. She likes to tell people, "You shouldn't be asking that question." Her husband has some health issues, so I understand that she may be stressed sometimes, but there's no reason to speak to students the way that she does.

Unfortunately, she's the only professor teaching the class.
