NEVER EVER TAKE GOV310 WITH EDWARDS!! Not only was the class itself agony to sit through, but it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and A TON OF WORK. Edwards is the worst GOV310 teacher, hands down. Each test covers 5-6 chapters of the book (each chapter is at least 30 pages), plus 30 slide powerpoints from every lecture (several times there were two powerpoints per lecture) that are incredibly boring and very detailed, PLUS random facts from recent New York Times. Needless to say the tests took hours and hours to study for because of the vast magnitude of material they covered. Even with endless studying they were very hard and graded harshly. The lectures were so boring because Edwards doesn't have any enthusiasm in his voice, and he doesn't even follow a coherent teaching structure. The powerpoints were different material than the book most of the time, and everything he taught was "according to Edwards," which was very obnoxious. Making it even worse is that actual test questions would start out with "according to edwards...." which would require you to know a small specific detail from one of the hundreds of text filled slides from his powerpoints. Basically there is nothing positive or good about this class at all, unless you have a ton of time on your hands and you want to learn every detail about american government, and Edward's opinions on politics. If you are registered for this class, drop it immediately. I desperately wish I would have.
