Pros: great professor that really knows her stuff.
Cons: class is fast paced, you HAVE to read to keep up.
She really takes her time to explain all the little details. There is homework, but it is optional. She offers extra credit on all of her exams, and you can drop one exam. You cannot exempt the final though. There are weekly quizzes in discussion, but they are fairly easy if you have been paying attention in class and reading in the text book. Reading the text book is a MUST. Just pay the extra $10 and buy the book, that way you can mark in it. It is really helpful.

She only curves if she really needs to. She usually just gives the students an opportunity for extra credit instead. She is a great lecturer, and she really knows her stuff. If you read the book before class, and then listen to her, everything makes a lot more sense. The tests are fairly hard. She definitely makes sure you know your stuff on the exams. There are worksheets that are sort of like homework, but you never turn them in. I personally liked her overall, but there were many people who didn't.

Wandelt is very enthusiastic, but her tests are very detailed. You have to study for about a week in advance if you want to do well (make an A or B). She is easy to listen to in lecture, and she gives a weekly worksheet (it's not graded) to help you make sure you're understanding everything. Overall, she's a decent professor, but this is definitely not a blow off class.

Pros: Very knowledgable, good sense of humor, and organized. The lectures follow the book very closely. Very enthusiastic, gives extra credit worth 5 or 10 points on tests (can't remember...) She appreciates when people ask questions and never patronizes
Cons: It was a huge class, and she wasn't very approachable. The t.a. was great, though. The tests were very specific and practically the source of our whole grade. She would sometimes put questions on the test over a semi-tangential detail she mentioned once, and neglect to test us over the general concepts even though it was for non majors.

Pros: She is the best biology professor here at UT. Her lectures are great and she is very enthusiastic when she teaches! Her exams are fair. Though she covers a lot of materials, studying every week for her class makes getting an A manageable.
Cons: A lot of materials, but what can you expect from a biology class?
Awesome professor and TA!

Pros: She offers a lot of extra credit and she's a good teacher.
Cons: Her tests are absolutely ridiculous. She expects you to know all of these tiny details and the final for her class is impossible. She's a good teacher but I would try to take any other professor if you want a good grade

quizzes were in discussion so that was mandatory, her exams were extremely difficult. I find it hard to take notes when professors use powerpoints and read off of them and that is what she did. her class is NOT easy, but since when is a natural science class at UT easy?
