Pros: Pretty high chance if getting an A if you actually pay attention

Best professor ever. Not kidding.

Textbook is easy to understand.

Score on quiz before test is used as extra credit on test (max of 10 pts possible)
Cons: Reading assignment after every pretty much every class but it never took me longer than 45 minutes to do the reading and take notes on it.

Frequent quizzes but they were pretty fair if you did the reading.
I cannot tell you how much this class meant to me and what an awesome professor Mike is.I know of no one who did not enjoy this class. At the end of the semester I was quite upset that I would never get to live this experience again.

Mike is awesome. All you have to do to get an A in this class is go to class, listen, take notes, use common sense, and study maybe an hour or two before each test. Mike makes this class fun/enjoyable and I feel like I could ask him anything. Just because this class is fun/easy doesn't mean you don't learn anything, either. Out of my classes this semester, this class may have taught me the most, and the most useful. If you can take this class from mike, do it.

The one drawback from this course is the lab portion. The lab is 3 hrs long, but rarely lasts 2 hrs. The work is easy but tedious. My TA has helped our class a lot with the lab, but idk about other TA's.

Amazing, Amazing teacher. Presents the information in an interesting manner so it's easy to learn. I am a freshman business tsudent and some how I got into this sophomore engineering class, and i absolutely loved it. I hardly had to study because I remembered most of the information from th electure. Just make sure you go to class. You don't even have to read the book!

Great teacher, one of the best. Mike tends to ramble and then expects you to know what he was talking about, but the majority of the class is common sense. I highly recommend this guy because he is all about the students and teaches only because he loves to. Take this course!

This class doesn't have a whole lot to actually deal with geology, but he is an awesome professor and even though he doesn't take attendance it's just one of those classes you dont want to miss. He is very reasonable and easy to relate to. VERY humorous!

Mike is the best teacher at Tech. As long as you go to class, there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A. He literally tells you not to take notes until he finishes talking and then he tells you exactly what to write down and that he won't put anything on the test that he doesn't tell you to write down. Simply put, hes an amazing teacher and a guy you should definitely get to know.

Pros: Super easy super chill super awesome class
Cons: Nada
Great professor and easy A class. He is very kind and very approachable. Sometimes I think he might be too chill...but I guess that's a good thing. I would definitely recommend this class just for fun cause I thought it was worth it!

Pros: This professor is a BAMF! Him and Boyer are the 2 coolest people here at tech.
Cons: If you have to take the lab, it is oober boring and you look at rocks for hours.
If you don't "have" to take the lab, take the course. The professor is hilarious and you actually want to come and listen.

Pros: Simply put, Mike is a really cool professor. He focuses primarily on the broad concepts of geology and assumes if you have a genuine interest, that you will pursue it outside of the class. His tests are fairly simple and he recycles a lot of the questions.

Write down everything. Easy class. He's obsessed with global warming though, it gets annoying. He used the picture of the polar bear stuck on a piece of ice as an example, as if all the ice melted around him quickly, not over time. Yeah, right.

Pros: Awesome guy! Lots of fun! He really makes sure you know your stuff in an applicable sense. He teaches off the textbook, but he creates the curriculum and class plan as he goes along in the semester which is cool.
