Pros: very laid back, friendly, and caring
Cons: lots of working in groups (mostly in class) and doing roleplays in front of the class. He will tell you in the first class that it may seem more like a drama or acting class than a business class [I consider this a con for those that aren't into public speaking etc.]

final exam is replaced with the project- you do a roleplay selling presentation. Doesn't include a powerpoint or real written paper though.

(if you are worried about the public speaking aspect, it's not as bad as normal presentations. You are roleplaying which means you get to sit in a chair at a table and basically talk to your group mates).

Reilly tries to make this class very practical and useful for the real world (lots of roleplaying). He is very knowledgeable about sales and is an excellent resource if you ever need advice or information.

Cons: Takes forever to respond to emails and grade projects/exams

Doesn't take administering the class very seriously
Basic tips:

1) Reading the book helps much more than lecture slides (I can't stress this enough). If you want to be efficient with your studying, just read the chapters pay attention to the real world examples he gives in class (examples for companies, not so much his personal stories)

2) He will ask the class a question: if nobody answers, he'll wait till someone answers and either move on or ask a random person in class...it's very awkward if you get called on and have no idea what's going on. I participated in class so I don't know how strict he is with class participation grades..but I do no the class runs more smoothly if someone has an answer for the question.

3) Use the chapter that relates to the case you are assigned for the project as guidance for the project

4) "I'll understand your screw ups if you understand mine" he says. He is very laxed and you aren't screwed if you completely spaced on the due date for a paper or something, so obviously I don't endorse abusing that power, but he is very far from being a stickler.

For the most part, it's an easy grade. I assume you would learn more from taking Gresh, depends on how important you find channels and logistics.

Pros: Reilly is an awesome professor who definitely has a passion for business, especially marketing. This was single-handedly the most interesting marketing class I have taken, and the one I learned the most in. Reilly is a pretty chill guy when it comes to most things, and he offers a TON of extra credit in case you don't do too well on the exams.
Cons: Case studies are a bit of a challenge. Also he doesn't make his exams so they aren't exactly a breeze. You definitely need the textbook to do well on the exams.
All in all, I enjoyed this course more than any other marketing class I have ever taken. Although my exam scores weren't the greatest, I truly can say I learned more about marketing from this course than any others I have taken through Pamplin. The case studies were actually interesting as well. Don't freak out about the case studies because two of the three are done in groups, and as long as you have a decent group you should be fine. However, don't push these case studies off and not try because Reilly knows BS when he reads it. I would highly recommend this course, and I think Reilly is probably your best bet when it comes to getting a decent grade as well. The amount of extra credit he offers through WSJ articles and SONA labs are insane, so take advantage of these opportunities if you want a good grade.

Pros: Generally a nice person and not a very difficult grader. Homework included just coming to class having read the case and prepared to discuss and come up with a decision... if you don't read you're screwed. (Google the cases most are already analyzed online if you need help).
Cons: The in class presentations are ridiculous. He will interrupt you saying you need to explain further even if your explanation is on the next slide. Demands VERY specific math to be derived from cases that is comically hard to do up to his standards yet he refuses to teach you how to do it. While his own presentations are not anything groundbreaking.
Has a very condescending way of speaking to students. From the other koofers reviews this may be because this is a senior level class. He assumes you will be doing exactly what he has had experience in and makes you do the work according to "what he would have done for his clients" rather than in a general marketing sense that might promote extended general learning/thinking. Always brings up work and clients he has going on outside of class, I'm assuming to justify his opinions but it comes off unrelated and vain. - The type of professor to ask a question with an answer in mind and if you don't hit it directly or he misunderstands you he will gloss over you and say what he wants... does not encourage conversations that deviate from what he thinks is the "right" answer. I think he truly believes he's a genius (while he may be very experienced he hasn't taught me anything I didn't already know from other classes) literally said "I am very very good at math" ... and then overcomplicates simple math and thinks we're stupid when we don't follow his convoluted logic.

Pros: Reilly is a cool teacher. He truly has a passion for the subject, and tries to make his students appreciate international marketing. He offers a lot of extra credit as well.
Cons: This class is not an "easy" elective. I took this class to fulfill one of my two marketing electives, and I thought it would be a relatively light workload and would be pretty easy. Think again. Though the class is not hard persay, it does require a lot of your time. The tests are not too, too bad but your definitely need to study in order to do well. The multiple case studies he makes you write are a bit of a pain, but they do help you in the long term. But each one has to be at least 10 pages long single-spaced and they require a good amount of time. On top of all that, there is a 30 minute group presentation due at the end of the semester. Finally, his lectures are hit or miss. Some days they are very interesting, others it's hard to stay awake.
All in all, I would say this class is suited for anyone who truly has a passion for international business. If you do not (such as myself), this class may become a pain at times. I cannot recommend nor discourage anyone taking this class necessarily, just know what you're getting yourself into.

Pros: Overall, a really nice professor. Easy grades. Just take him.
Cons: None
There are 2 tests and a semester long project. He gives credit through the Pamplin Lab where you can take six 30 minutes studies. He will also randomly assign problems in the book, but nothing big at all (it's also extra credit too, so you don't have to do it). He knows the subject of Marketing Research is really difficult and he doesn't want to make it hard for us, so he tries to dumb it down for us. My group forgot to turn in a part of it and he literally said "Oh don't worry about it, just turn it in whenever" haha... Just take him, he's a super nice guy and really laid back.

Pros: really easy grader (for projects)
Cons: group work (if you're like me and don't like group work)
The teacher really enjoys the subject and it makes it a much more enjoyable class. A few group projects that all kind of connect or grow off each other. He's a very lenient grader and it's very hard to do bad in his class. It's a grade booster for the most part. I'm not a huge fan of group projects and class presentations but he takes shy-ness into consideration when grading presentations. He really just wants the class to love marketing as much as he does. Really great teacher.

Pros: Chillaxed

Grades projects leniently

Easy overall

Cons: Kind of hard to follow in lectures

Takes long to respond to emails or "I'll get back to you" questions after class

The book helps A TON more than the lectures...but I would pay attention to some of the major examples he gives in class.

If you want to get the easy grade and class requirement, this is the prof for you...if that's what you're looking for.

Pros: This class made me really like marketing, unlike the intro marketing class. Thomas' class has a lot of work, but you learn the material. He gives a lot of writing which is great, because Pamplin does not give students many opportunities to do business writing.
